[Almost immediately after, it cuts off. Again, several hours pass before Tidus replies. Daylight has ended and it's in the middle of night. He's sitting somewhere in Macalania woods, alone. He looks a little tired.]

It's all just one big cycle of death. Why-- why does everything have to revolve around people dying?! Summoners being sent to their death, people dying in hopes that there will be enough power to stop the deaths...

[He pauses, slumping and stares at the sky before asking as an afterthought.]

Can you marry a dead guy?

It's okay. We haven't lost. I just can't imagine what it's like for Yuna. She's had so much faith in this...but there has to be a way to stop the cycle.

Without death, there wouldn't be life.

Then shouldn't there be more life, to balance it out or something? I know, death will always exist, but this isn't natural, and the people here are hardly given a chance to really live.

There has to be! Something started this, so there's gotta be some way to end it.

For the past 1000 years, this creature called Sin has been on Spira, murdering entire cities of people and killing at random. Normally it goes for large gatherings though, which is why there aren't many cities. A Summoner trains to defeat Sin, along with any guardians. Only, all the Summoner does is summon the Final Aeon so that they can die. Even after they defeat Sin, Sin is reborn...it just keeps going on, over and over.

When this is over, I'm throwing a party. Want to come?

We did, but she took the whole thing pretty hard.
