So of all things, today I awoke to find Valhalla has been eaten, citizens and all.

What an unpleasant surprise. On the other hand, someone was kind enough to leave me cake this morning. Suspicious cake is always the most delicious kind somehow.

[Can you hear his annoyance, ducks? He is most annoyed. At Valhalla, not the cake. The cake is suspicious but really, as if poison was going to be any sort of trouble for him.]

...I really would have preferred if they hadn't slipped it into my pocket, however. The frosting is everywhere.

Then why not change the laws?

I don't have that power, but apart from that our species is on the brink of destruction. Without a mate of my own I only experience a mating season once every ten years. Then there are those of us who are only attracted to partners with bodies like our own. We are lucky if a couple can produce a child once every 400 years.

My, my. It looks like you truly are at the end of your existence, then. Does it frighten you?

When it comes to that, it may be better to let nature take its course.

Possibly, I can't be too sure about the future of Eden, but I'm not afraid just disappointed and a little heartbroken.

Ours is an ancient race anyway, I can't imagine something lasting forever.

Not even God will last forever.

That I am certain of.

I'm not so sure God knows me.

But how could you be so certain of something like that?

He and I know much of each other. Believe me... I know.

And if he exists in your world too, then he knows you.

If god as I've learned is supposed to be infinite then how could god not last forever?

I believe there's a riddle that says it best, though the answer is paradoxical to think of.

"If God is all-powerful, can he make something powerful enough to destroy him?"

If he could, why would he want to unless he was pretty certain he wanted to end his own existence?

Oh, he doesn't. But he did regardless. [At least, he's hoping so.]

Who knows how his mind works? He thinks that by keeping them blindly devoted, he can control them. But it won't work.

I have to wonder if out minds are still on the same thing Louis, or if you are alluding to something else.

God and I go back a long way. But I'm not troubled about it. Perhaps resentful is the right word.

It's understandable for one as old as I to feel resentment. Why does it concern you, if I am troubled or not?

Why wouldn't it? I suppose you feel it's because I hardly know you that I wouldn't feel concerned, but I'm not a cold man.

I know many who would be less concerned. Troubles are common in life. It is up to oneself to surpass them.

Alone? It was an Earthian who once said that "each of us are angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another." Sounds impractical coming from me, by I like to think of it symbolically

That is a strange view indeed. Relying on others constantly is as impractical as it can be. People are unreliable to the core.

That's not to say they cannot be relied on, but to rely on them too much would be troublesome to both them and you.

I know I am not god so I don't give myself credit for being able to do everything on my own. Sometimes I need help and sometimes I don't and sometimes I just like to know that help is present.

I must admit to being glad for that point. This would be an awkward conversation if you were.
