[Anyone who's been used to seeing Chloe as a blond will be in for a surprise today -- his hair is now deep, bloody red. He wipes a bit of frosting off his lip with a napkin and nods politely at the computer.]

Since the cupcakes seem to be a popular thing today, I wonder if anyone's discovered where they came from or if this is the end to the virus-free peace we've been enjoying since I gained access.

[For some reason, the look on Chloe's face warms up even more when he notices Klavier. He shifts to get more comfortable and neatens his hair absently.]

I feel better than I have in a long time, actually.

[That must've been some cupcake if Chloe is that good of a mood. Fortunately he can understand the need to keep himself looking presentable so Klavier isn't catching wind of anything just yet.]

How is that leg of yours feeling?

My leg's healing as well as it can, from what the doctor tells me. I still have another month in a cast though.

And what have you been up to, Klavier?

Well, I suspect that's a good thing. What happened to your leg...? I don't think I've asked you that yet...but if it's personal...

Ah! I think my social life has plummeted, I can't say I've been up to much. I haven't lined anything up for Valentine's Day either. [He's shocked that he's actually dateless.]

We were hit by an unexpected ice storm and I slipped. I'm not usually that graceless, but I suppose everyone needs to have their moments to seem more human.

I'd think that someone as attractive as you would have an easy time celebrating today.

[Wait, what? Amazingly, the cupcake's effects prevent him from seeing anything wrong with this.]

What a shame, I bet together your legs are a nice set.

[Wait, now he's getting some strange signals, the last time they talked he figured Chloe was weirded out by him calling the other man attractive...was the attorney mistaken about something.]

Not usually...no...but I guess I've been under more strain than usual and...I haven't thought about it.

That was then and this is now. Damn cupcake. And since Klavier already thinks this, Chloe's not as awkward admitting the same.]

Maybe you'll get a chance to see one day. For now, all you'd get to see is one nice leg and one green cast.

I haven't thought much about the holiday either, but now I can imagine seeing myself spending time with you, assuming it's not possible to overuse a worldhop device.

[You should know that Klavier has his own perverse little world and he's wondering it there's a double meaning since he might have been thinking of Chloe's bare legs himself.

That couldn't be quite right, but the final statement does catch the ex-rocker off guard.]

I've never heard of such a thing...That...you're asking me out on a date? [It couldn't be so Klavier has to test this, and he gives Chloe a playful smile] I suspect on the off chance we'll end up in a nice, sultry heap somewhere?

I'm not certain about that part, but we could at least get dinner somewhere nice if either of us know a place with free tables on such short notice.

[Chloe's never even kissed someone, so any physical affection will take some easing into.]

So you're really just interested in being in my company [Klavier isn't so sure where this is coming from, though he figures Chloe might be interested in making acquaintances on the community...alright] It wouldn't be difficult for me to get a table at a nice restaurant if you want to get to know me, I'm more concerned about that leg. You'll be alright?

Your company seems like a very nice thing right now. We'll see what happens from there, Klavier. And as for my leg, as long as I have a bit of space to use crutches, I can manage.
