[When the feed starts Haibara can be seen at the far edge of the frame, poking at a heavily frosted cupcake and a golden apple which happen to be at the other edge, sealed in a plastic box with two hand holes. She's apparently pulled out all the stops in attempting to protect herself by wearing a surgical mask, gloves, and plastic goggles, poking at the food with a very long stick]

I know it was my birthday recently and today's Valentine's, but nothing is going to make me trust this food. I know my Greek myths and I know this community!

You'd think other people would know better by this point.

Then that hunger must have induced complete stupidity to make them eat food of unknown origin.

I guess so. That's a bit of a harsh way to put it, though! In their defense the last time the community gave us cake it was harmless, so... it's easy to see how someone could make that mistake.

Who was the apple from? I know there was a note, but I don't really know that many community members at all, so I wasn't sure.

Sometimes you have to be harsh to get anyone to listen... and I must have been skipped over, because I don't remember getting any cake.

In all likelihood? Probably Eris, the golden apple of Discord and all that.

It was sometime last summer, I think. There was a lot of glitter with it as well.

Oh, you mean the Greek goddess who was on the community? I don't really know my myths all that well.

Yes, her. She threw an apple into a party that she hadn't been invited too and it made three of the other goddesses fight and thus sparked off the Trojan war.

That's true! It did take days to clean it all up in Kurain afterwards. I think there's still some stuck between the floorboards.

Like I said, Golden Apple of Discord. Didn't help that she'd said "only the fairest may possess this apple" and then they let an idiot pick which goddess was "the fairest."

He was offered the most beautiful woman in the world if he picked Aphrodite, and of course he wanted that. Not really sure if the apple was shareable.

I guess we'll never know if they could have cut it up and shared it...

My America's different from a lot of others, I think. But Kurain village is quite unusual even on my world.

Not necessarily. It may only be golden on the outside, in which case it could easily be slipped into any apple-related food someone might be eating.

Nothing specific. Just something to have available if there's ever a situation where it would be useful.
