Good evenning, everyone. I hope you are doing well. My name is Tendou Kasumi, and it is a pleasure to meet you, if we have not already. I have been here for quite a while, and so, have been wondering for some time, if you wouldn't mind answering:

What is your world like?

That's all right. It's easy to loose track of time, isn't it? If you ever do have the chance to travel, Tokyo is lovely. Though Fuyuki City is, too, if much smaller. I have been able to visit some few times. Did you know Issei-kun lives there as well? A version of the city, that is.

I know--my version is a little more than ten years before his. I'll admit it's a nice enough place.

You're from the same world? My, I hadn't known.

I can't speak very much on the exact details of it, knowing little of them myself. But the time discrepancy aside, we are more or less from similar if not identical versions of the same world.

So you have seen the temple in the past and the future! As well as the town. That must be very interesting. I wonder what Tokyo will look like in ten years; much bigger, I expect, if the Western cities are any indication.

Actually, I do not think I've seen the temple in my own time yet. I may have passed by it once, but I have for the most part kept to different areas of the city.

I can't really say--whenever I am in his version of Fuyuki, I note it looks a great deal unlike this one. I have little experience with many other modern areas.

I see. Your business must keep you quite occupied. If you were ever curious to see another modern place, and had the time, I would be happy to show you Tokyo. The view from Tokyo Tower is truly spectacular! Or, I am sure Issei-kun would take you anywhere you liked. Paris is lovely at any time.

The buildings get taller the further one goes in time, and the cars much stranger. Everything seems to shine. Is this your experience, too?

I'm certain he would if we both had the time. I would love to visit Ireland again, truthfully.

Yes, I think so. There's a great deal of this modern era I'm very unfamiliar with, but I admit it all has a certain charm to it.

I'm sure if you mention the thought to him, it would be more than possible to do so. Japan must be very different than Ireland. If you would not mind, what was it like there?

I lived there a very long time ago, I'm certain it is vastly different now.

I would not exactly have called it 'peaceful'...quieter, I think would be a better term. This city can be so loud and bright sometimes. Not that I am complaining, of course.

Smaller, you mean? In the way that everyone might know one another in shared history? I think that sounds very nice. My neighborhood is closely knit, but it is still a city, and one cannot know everyone.

How long ago was this, if I might ask?

Something like that, I suppose.

[He paused, smiling just a little awkwardly.] Somewhere around...oh, two thousand years? It's difficult to say precisely.

...sir, if I might say, you look to be doing very well for your age.

[A laugh.] It's a little complicated. To be clear, I'm actually only twenty-five.

Is that so? [Thoughtful headtilt-- that straightens a second later with a smile.]

Did you travel forward, then? Oh, though, you needn't explain if it would be any trouble. I will admit, I am curious.

I'm certainly no time traveler. I was summoned here after my death--there's a great deal of magic involved that I don't entirely understand the mechanics of, not being a magus myself.

Then you are a ghost?

Not...exactly. Not in the sense that I think the word is often used. While I can shift to a spirit form, as I am at the moment I am actually quite solid and tangible. I manifest in this world using the energy of a magus to whom I am contracted. Without that, I would disappear, and I fight for them in return.

I'm called a Servant or a heroic spirit, and there are six others in the same position in this world. Well...five, now. I think Assassin has already been defeated.

Please tell me if I understand correctly. You are a contracted with a magus, that is, a magical user along with six -- or five -- others, for the purpose of protection?

That's the basic idea of it. We're called to fight in a war for the Holy Grail--protecting our Masters comes along with that.

Holy Grail-- like Rider-san, then?

That's correct. There are seven Servant classes based around our preferred weaponry and fighting style.--Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Berserker, and Assassin.

All classes must be represented in order for the competition to begin?

That's exactly right.
