[video]

[The video starts showing the inside of The Once-ler’s carriage-house. He’s sleeping and there’s a small barbaloot, Pipsqueak, dozing off next to him on the bed. The boy turns, stirs and wakes up, not noticing the two black cat ears that are now on top of his head and the long tail he has to match those. So long, in fact, that it gets tangled around his ankles when he gets out of bed.

Once-ler squeaks like a surprised parrot, tries to finish the step he was taking, steps on the rug on the floor instead and slides. Then he tries to grab onto the nearest curtain but ah, Gravity, thou art a heartless bitch, the green fabric gets pulled down with him as he falls face first to the wooden floor.

Pipsqueak jumps awake at the sudden yell and crash. He crawls all over the tangled mess that is the Once-ler to make sure the man didn’t kill himself, and tugs one of his cats ears.]

...For now, yeah.

But how...I don't understand.

It's a virus.

Well, a couple of viruses really. Has anyone told you about them yet?

But I don't feel sick I ...no, no one. [His tail curls around his legs, he looks fairly worried.] We are sick?

Not sick exactly? It's more like a spell. Different things happen every month.

joy, more magic in my life...I didn't had enough of it.

Really? What kind of magic?

I told you about the Lorax the first time we talked?

I don't think that you did.

He's a green, short, mustached creature that came from god know where and says that he speaks for the trees here.

For the trees? Is there something wrong with the trees where you're from?

Nothing wrong, he just wants to make sure no one chops them.

Oh! Well that's really nice of him! If you cut down too many trees I bet it could be a big mess.

Yes, he made clear he didn't like that when he throw my bed into the river.

What? Why?

He said it was an accident. I still have my doubts.... I nearly drown.

Oh my gosh! That sounds dangerous!

I wonder why he would pick on you, though?

He nearly killed Pipsqueak too, but I caught him before he could drown in that waterfall.

Uhm...[His ears drop.] I was new to the Valley. [And kinda sorta decided to live there without asking permission and caused a mess for all the animals that were near him. Oh, and he also chop a tree.]

Was that really all? It seems pretty harsh...

He is very grumpy. [Nope, he won't admit that he cut that tree.]But we are getting along a bit better now.

Well, that's good I suppose. He hasn't tried to hurt you again?

No we are in good terms now, ore or less.

Oh good! It must have just been a misunderstanding.

That's what he said. I still nearly drowned, and so did Pipsqueak.
