[While Ren is off spying on a target, he decides to take a break to contact everyone here. It's been awhile after all.]

Can anyone here make a bouquet with cherries as the focus? I'll pay you but I do need this right away for a very special girl in my life. She's a little down and I'm looking for ways to pick her up a bit.

Well, something like "I'm here" would be nice but I'm not picky. I just want to make sure there are plenty of cherries on it for her to eat.

Round up a worldhop so I can get cherry tree fruit and flowers, and I'll make a bouquet. [ there's a pause, and she starts typing. ] Hang on, there's a Latin name I don't remember, just to be sure... Prunus avium, it's gotta be that one. You're gonna have to take me to a flower shop too, 'cause I should use some pink zinnia and Adam's needle. And if it's a bouquet, you'll be tying it, so get a pink ribbon. Think you can manage that?

[He smiles a bit.]

So get you somewhere with the things you need and then you'll do it? That sounds easy.

Yeah. Don't bother paying me or anything, I don't have any use for money. I'm only doing this 'cause I like flowers and I don't wanna see someone else fuck up a bouquet, anyway.

I know a florist shop that would work and where to get the other things. When would be a good time to come get you?

Any time's fine. The only thing you're gonna be taking me away from is a bit of jail time.

[Ai hasn't been herself ever since the virus ended. She had seen so many people during it. She hadn't been keeping secrets, and ... others had hugged her, held her close. It had stirred something inside of her.

Ai had stayed in the water for a good day when she was right again. it wasn't right, and she could feel the eyes of the spider hot on her back. Ai needed to clear her mind of all of those feelings, but it wasn't going well.

Currently, Ai was sitting on the small dock over the stream. Her feet dangling over the edge. She was watching the small fish as they passed her feet. These feelings had to pass, right? They always did. She had forever to do it... She just couldn't do it right that second.]

[After spying for a bit, Ren decides to leave the rest to the other two for the day and heads back. The others don't understand what is going on...not like he does. He can actually see the community.

Finding Ai, he slips up next to her and sits down. He doesn't have the bouquet yet but he does have some cherries for her. He knows she'll like those.]

[Ai wasn't sure what to do when Ren sat next to him. She knew he was aware of what she had done. He could tell she had been gone if nothing else. Ai wanted to cling to him, to sob like a child into his arms, but the spider was watching. Instead Ai kicked her feet in the water and refused to cherries but not reaching for them. She wasn't really hungry at the moment.

No, instead Ai reached her hand out and placed it over Ren's. She wasn't sure if she wanted a hug yet, but Ren's touches were different from the ones she had been given by the people of the community. She wanted him to touch her cheek in that way he does, and just speak in his kind voice just for her.]

[Ren smiles at her and moves the cherries away before moving to sit behind her, legs on either side of hers. Gently, he pulls her against him and holds Ai close.]

The water is so pretty, oujo. [He hums softly and strokes his fingers through her hair, stroking her cheek in the process.]

[Ai leans her cheek against his hand. This is what she needed. His slow and steady touch. Nothing but the sound of her world and the melody of his voice. She was grateful that he was always by her side, more then ever right now.]

It's steady.

[Just like Ren was. She rested the back of her head against his chest. She missed him far more then she understood until now.]

It continues to flow no matter what.

[Ren hums softly, a little tune he remembers hearing many years ago. Back when he was still a sword.]

[Ai just listened to his song for a while. It mixed in with the sound of the stream, and a part of those horrible feelings slipped away with the water. It was a start.]

[Ai started to hum along, her fingers lacing into the hand holding her safe against him.]

[The humming continues since he really doesn't remember the words anymore. It was so long ago... Closing his eyes, he moves his free hand through her hair while the other holds her close. The shoes he's wearing are wet by now but he finds that he just doesn't care.

As long as he can help her then that's all that matters in his world.]

[Ai squeezed his hand tightly for a moment.]

Ren. [she wanted to say so much, but she didn't know the words.] What if I wanted to call you mine? [it was risky. She didn't want the spider to take him away if he thought he was something she had feelings for. After all, She wasn't allowed to have them. The only reason she had gotten away with the hugs was because of the network. But.. they had defied him before, right? Maybe...]

I am yours whether you wish to call me that or not, oujo. I will always be yours and yours alone.

[He has to interrupt the tune to reply to her but it's worth it. He wants to tell her how he feels and let her know how loyal he is. There will never be anyone else for him. Ai is the one who saved him, who he will do anything for, who he longs to be with.

She's his entire world.]

[Ai took Ren's hand that was running through her hair in her own and held it against her cheek. He was hers? Yes, Ren had said it a thousand times over before. It just meant something more to her at that moment.]

Will you call me Ai for a moment? [another risk, but right now she needed it.]
