It's 2:00am here on Isla Sorna and the sound of compys (Procompsognathus for those of you unfamiliar with dinosaur slang) chirping and scratching against the walls of the trailer prevents me from getting any sleep whatsoever. With my luck, I’m probably the only one awake and definitely the only one typing away at a laptop this late at night. But, hey. Anything to pass the time.

My name is Ian Malcolm and I’m a mathematician chaotician. Really, I couldn’t think of a better community to join, especially one that thrives on such chaos. It would make for an interesting experiment to see if my arrival might effect the community as a whole and if it will (hopefully not) cause any turbulence. Yup. That’s chaos theory for you.

Oh...well, we're all from different worlds around here. I live in the Destiny Islands, which you've probably never heard of because they don't exist in the world you live in. Happens a lot around here - sometimes we even get places with the same name that are completely different. There seem to be several "Japan"s around here. Is there a Japan in your world, too?

Yikes! I was going to say I'd love to see dinosaurs, but not if they're going to be ripping legs off people. :(

Hmmm... interesting. The concept of alternate realities. To answer your question, my "world" has a Japan. It's pretty uninteresting in comparison to the other Japans you must be referring to.

And not all of the dinosaurs that I've encountered are savage. There are some that are quite beautiful and friendly. For example, the Stegosaurus is really just like an overgrown cow. It's not deadly at all unless you provoke it or its young.

Also, it's not like I want to be doing this. I'm very content giving lectures and speeches about chaos theory. The only reason I'm on this island observing dinosaurs is because I was kinda forced into it.
