[When the video cuts on, the first thing that fills the frame is a wide pair of brown eyes. They glance downwards, apparently noticing that it's recording, and then the person those eyes belong to gasps quietly and ducks out of the frame, only momentarily revealing a very pale, pretty face with delicate features. After a moment of quiet, she peers over the edge of the table that the laptop seems to be sitting on, her eyes on the screen rather than the lense of the camera. Not that she would even know what the camera WAS. A small hand, white as what little of the face you can now see, gingerly reaches into the frame, touching the screen; she pulls away quickly, as if she'd been bitten.
When the computer fails to bite her, or to in any way react to her behavior, she realizes that there are words on the screen, and that the words are telling her something about a... video recording...? “Say something,” it says.]
H... hello...?
[Her voice is tiny to match the rest of her. She finally slides properly into view, very slowly, watching the computer with an expression that clearly states she fully expects the magic light-up box to fly off of the table and bite her in the face at any moment. Technology is scary. She doesn't even know what that word means, but it sounds scary and alien to her. She's only even touched a video game once and thinks that cameras can steal your soul, okay.]
What a strange thing... what does it do...? Misha-san said that you can use it to talk to people, but... I don't see anyone.
I-- is anyone the-- ah!
[She accidentally hit a button. Oops. The video shuts off briefly.]
[The video clicks on once again a few seconds later-- this time, she seems a bit less hesitant. She smiles sheepishly, fidgeting with her hair.]
Um... hello. I'm sorry about that before... I don't know very much about, um, computers at all. Higuchi-san and Misha-san tried to explain it, and I... I think I understand how to speak to you now, at least. Although I'm not... really sure who you are. Higuchi-san helped me set up an a... account here, at least, although it already had a name chosen for me-- it's all very strange and confusing.
[Though she's still smiling weakly, it falters for a moment, her nerves properly showing through.]
He didn't seem to know where this machine came from, either, but... he seems to think it could be good for me to have one. I asked Misha-san, and she said that it must've been a miracle. [She smiles a bit more naturally at that. But then it disappears as she remembers something suddenly--]
Oh-- I-I'm sorry, I'm just so nervous, I must have forgotten. My name is Shia. [she gives a small bow, even though it's just a video post to an internet community.] It's a pleasure meeting all of you.
Um... if it isn't too strange to ask... who are all of you?
