so i met this girl last night before the match. she's from the southern water tribe and she was just like, sneaking around and looking at the gym. Toza was gonna throw her out but i was like 'no way this lady is with me' and got him to let her stay. and then she watched the match, turns out she's a big fan of yours truly and mako, listening on the radio and all that.

and then

you'll never guess guys.

her name is korra and she's the avatar. the avatar wants to hang out with us and watch us compete. and i taught her some pro-bending moves.

man she's awesome, complete natural.

but the avatar. so cool :D

well you have four elements. earth, fire, water, and air. a person can normally only control one. like me.

im an earthbender and i can control dirt, earth, rock, whatever.

the avatar can use all four.

So can you tell me more about how bending works? Manipulating elements isn't unheard of in this world, but it requires a great deal of skill in magic. I knew a magus who had a dual wind and water affinity--he used it to control mercury.

so basically you have two teams of three benders, a waterbender, an earthbender and a firender. they all get in a ring divided into two halves with three zones and the object is to make your opponents move back into their zones and eventually kick them out of the ring.

best sport in the world.

well calling earthbending moving dirt around is kind of an understatement

but i could cause like a really small one right around me. the avatar could probably do more. earthquakes are a bitout of our league most of the time.

That's still quite impressive. You use your power just to fight, not to build stuff or break it? Those powers could come in handy in the construction industry.

earth, stone, dirt, rocks. some people who train in it can bend metal.

oh yeah it gets used in construction all the time. i just use mine for pro-bending because i'm good at it.
