So it seems that I have missed my birthday.... At least according to the community in general. Peculiar how time is different all over.

Well, this may call for a belated display of colour then.


[He grins and points his wand toward the sky. Soon there are magical bursts of fireworks lighting it up.]

Not really but it was an official coming of age so it may be marked as important.

May be? You don't mark it with the same importance?

I have always done what I wanted so I do not see the significance.

Whether you're acknowledging it as a coming of age or just your birthday it's still something isn't it?

It is a mark of the passing of the years. Better than it being treated as a funeral.

[ms_potts]

That's true. Many see birthdays as depressing events. I prefer to see them more happily, myself.

My aunt disliked other events of that date, so she saw only the negative.

At school it did become more positive.

[ms_potts]

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad you were able to find some positivity at least.

[darklycharming]

Oh, I always see the positive. When she was ranting, I'd just sneak out.

[He grins.]

[She laughs]

Well that's certainly one solution to the problem. Didn't she notice?

Yes, then I would get a lecture when I came home.

But she gave up trying, in time.

That sounds very familiar, actually

Oh? Did you have a humorless guardian as well?

[ms_potts]

Actually I typically end up on the other side of that equation.

People think that you are uptight?

[ms_potts]

Mostly Tony, but yes. I've had to be. I've had to help run one of the largest companies in the world. If I wasn't everyone would think it would be easy to walk all over me and I wouldn't get anywhere.

[pause]

Besides: if I wasn't, Tony would never make it to meetings or appointments at all. He'd lock himself in his workshop and not come out for days at a time. That's fine when he doesn't have any other engagements, but when he has work to attend to it makes things rather difficult.

It sounds like you are very responsible... But you do have fun too, don't you?

When I can, yes. It's been easier lately.

[darklycharming]

Has it? Why?

[ms_potts]

I ran the company myself for a week. Since then he's taken up more responsibilities and made my job easier.
