However you want to define it. It's a pretty open question.

Most of my blood family is so distanced that I hardly know them- so many generations between us.

There is very little I wouldn't do for my pack, though. I arranged the assassination of our leader to keep them safe, after all.

He was insane and the insanity was going to spread through the pack, and I could only take the brunt of it for so long. It was perhaps less assassination and more having a rabid dog put down.

When the Alpha, the leader of a pack, reaches a certain age, they do tend to go mad. Most have the sense to withdraw from the pack and allow a younger wolf to take their place, and most are not as... cruel as he was.

[Lyall's voice is entirely flat speaking about this. It's a tough topic for him.]

Unfortunately, he did not leave and there was no one strong enough in the pack to take him in a fight- I had to arrange matters so that a challenger came from Scotland.

Yes. If it was not, I would surely have been affected by now- but I have never desired or attempted to achieve Alpha status.
