[accidental video]
[The feed cuts in on a console room. A very exuberant voice echos from the other side of the room, growing louder as he hops closer]
Alright alright I know I said they were ant people but I had no idea they were actually ant sized ant people. It didn't say anything about it on the brochure... that I saw... [He spins into view, waving a hand.] whenIskimmedit but! [He shoots a cheeky smirk at his companions] Now you can honestly say you've had an entire planet look up to you!
[He laughs, grinning as he turns to look at his scanner... and sees something entirely unexpected.] Hullo. What's this? [He taps a finger on the screen]
A live feed? [Frowning slightly he plays with the knobs and settings to no avail. Finally he pulls out his screwdriver, scanning the whole thing. With a flick of the wrist he flips it open and surveys the readings] It seems the TARDIS has been connected to some sort of internet feed.
[He looks up, squinting at the screen] Who's out there?

Well now this is a surprise. Usually when I talk to myself I'm the only one there.
Back? That would mean I've been here before.... or will be here since... That's interesting.
no subject
Yeah, back. You were here before by our count at least, whether it was a different you or whether you've just lost your memory of it is a different matter. Ask Rory, see if you can get timelines straight.
no subject
[He makes a mental note to ask Rory about all that. But in the meantime he's just thoroughly enjoying talking to his younger self.]

[He's leaning veeeeeeeery close to the screen, looking Ten over as he talks. Oh if his screwdriver could only read through the feed. After a moment he smiles]
Yes, well, temporal anomalies are no stranger to us, hmm? Have you had any side effects from the process?

[Oh that's got him thinking]
How long are people generally connected to this community? Is there any consistency or is it random?

You know who created the community? How did she do it? If she didn't intend for it to be this what did she want it to be in the first place? Just some way to reach out and touch someone? ... as it were.
Your suspicion is a good theory. The energy of all of these worlds and times overlapping could cause rips in the fabric of time itself. It could blow a hole the size of... [He types in the typewriter on the console for a moment, the shock clear on his face as the results stream across the screen] Well let's just say it would be quite a bit larger than Belgium. The cracks in time formed by the TARDIS exploding were nothing compared to the potential fallout from this community.
[he pauses, thinking]
If she's gone what's maintaining it? Unless it's grown self sufficient enough to begin maintaining itself in which case there may be an even more volatile possibility on the horizon.
no subject
I think you might be right about it becoming self-sufficient, though. I mean, like I said I spent some time inside the coding near the start of last year, and it's some fascinating stuff. That's leaving aside the rogue AIs that sometimes set up shop inside it, and let me tell you, some of them aren't the kind you'd want to meet in a dark--
[ and then his brain engages with something else he said, and he stops mid-flow, spluttering ] Wait, hang on, did you say the TARDIS exploded?
[ PRIORITIES. ]
no subject
[Sorry, did you ask something? He's lost in his own train of thought... and probably will continue to be unless he's interrupted]
no subject
Yes yes, it wouldn't surprise me either if it was some sort of social experiment given the kinds of demographics we have making up the userbase, but can we put that on hold for just one second while we talk about the TARDIS exploding while you were in charge of her?
no subject
Hmmm? Oh, that. That wasn't my fault! All of the races we'd ever defeated got together at Stonehenge and stuck me in the Pandorica because they thought I was going to destroy the universe because cracks were forming all through time and space due to the TARDIS exploding and, well, destroying everything. The thing none of them realized - and you know if they'd actually listened to me for once I could have stopped the entire event before it happened - was that I wasn't the one flying the TARDIS, nor was I the one who caused it to explode. Long story short [too late] Wibbly wobbly timey wimey I got out, found a fez, saved River, got shot by a Dalek and shot the Pandorica into the heart of the exploding TARDIS thereby starting the Big Bang all over again and erasing myself from the universe.
Thankfully Amy had the good sense to remember me just in time to dance at her and Rory's wedding. [He claps his hands, twirling in place, gesturing to the console room around him] And here we are.
no subject
... Right. That's... [ he gapes, closes his mouth, opens it again, and then thinks better of it. ] All in all, a little more excitement than our average Saturday then.
no subject
[It's as if as switch is flipped. All the enthusiasm drops from his voice as he thinks about that fateful day.]
And to think that of all those centuries listening to the tales of the Pandorica and the ultimate warrior it contained... The entire time it was a carefully woven trap throughout time and space to lure me there to put me inside. Granted, the "warrior" who ended up in the Pandorica for 2000 years is a warrior of a different sort but still befitting the grand title I'd think.
no subject
So hang on a sec, if you weren't in there for 2000 years, then-- [ and then it seems to hit him as he connects the conversation he'd had with Rory to the one he's having now. ] Oh... it was Amy, wasn't it?
