[The feed cuts in on a console room. A very exuberant voice echos from the other side of the room, growing louder as he hops closer]

Alright alright I know I said they were ant people but I had no idea they were actually ant sized ant people. It didn't say anything about it on the brochure... that I saw... [He spins into view, waving a hand.] whenIskimmedit but! [He shoots a cheeky smirk at his companions] Now you can honestly say you've had an entire planet look up to you!

[He laughs, grinning as he turns to look at his scanner... and sees something entirely unexpected.] Hullo. What's this? [He taps a finger on the screen]

A live feed? [Frowning slightly he plays with the knobs and settings to no avail. Finally he pulls out his screwdriver, scanning the whole thing. With a flick of the wrist he flips it open and surveys the readings] It seems the TARDIS has been connected to some sort of internet feed.

[He looks up, squinting at the screen] Who's out there?

They couldn't just go with Oh-three like we do nowadays?

Mmm but that doesn't narrow down which oh-three, now, does it? [He laughs] It does get more complicated once you get up in years.

Besides? Don't you think it's much more fun to say "5.5/Apple/26" than "oh-three"?

[antibadstuff]

More fun and also way more confusing, but it might just be my 21st century mindset holding me back. [ She sounds like she's joking around at least! ]

[hulloeverything]

[He tsks] That does tend to put a damper on things. But there's no reason you couldn't change that.

[antibadstuff]

I can't even leave town because of reasons I can't change. [ Even dying didn't help okay. ]

[hulloeverything]

There's always something that can be changed. Unfortunately some of those changes can't happen overnight.

[antibadstuff]

I died and I still got pulled back into it. One of those inescapable destinies that ignoring means everyone else dies.

[hulloeverything]

[He nods] Unfortunately I know all too well what you mean. Fixed points in time that cannot be changed without unwriting the whole of the universe...

[antibadstuff]

Not really a fixed point or anything. I think. [ She's not really sure what would constitute a fixed point. ] I mean, I've broken prophecies and changed things before but there's this whole thing in my world. Long, long time ago something happened a girl got mojo'd with all the powers to fight off demons, vampires, forces of darkness and stuff like that. Since then, every time that girl dies, another girl gets the power. It's been going like that since before "Me girl, me make fire" was even a language thing. No choice in it, no way to tell which girl it's going to be [ as far as she knows ] and no way to stop it. No way to try to pretend it didn't happen and just be normal. I'm the first one to even have friends, so at least there's that.

I mean, I don't mind saving people. It means my friends don't end up dead and the world doesn't end. That's a good thing. It also means that this is what I have to do and be, no changes to that possible unless I want the world to end.

[ She's tried college. It gets interrupted. Job? Tried, got fired on first day because hey, demons. Buffy's life isn't really where she wants it to be right now. ]

[hulloeverything]

[He pauses for a long moment, thinking] I know precisely what you mean. Perhaps more than many people here. All too often I find myself in a position where if I were to walk away the world, or the universe, would end. That's quite a responsibility you've been burdened with.

You say the power is passed down as each girl dies? So it moves from one to the other upon death. Interesting. [He pauses again, thinking]

[antibadstuff]

Yeah. I mean-- There's another Slayer besides me. [ Pause. ] That's what I'm called: The Slayer. But she's imprisoned on account of a case of psycho serial killer-itis. So I'm the only one who's actually doing the job, again. The other girl only got it because the first time I got killed, it transferred to Kendra then she got killed, so Faith got it. Xander resuscitated me that time, leaving big dying for the second go. The dying power-hijinx only works once so the time I died-died, no more bonus Slayers. Then big resurrection spell and here I am being the only one again unless someone or something kills Faith.
