[Video; backdated to bad end virus] Some things are better left unsaid

 [The video opens on a scene in what could only be a laboratory.   What once was a laboratory.  Overturned tables and shattered equipment lies everywhere.  And Danny, battered and pale from shock, is curled up tightly in a ball against one wall.    Vlad was likely dead already.  He already knew there was no chance  of escape for himself.

Danny slowly looks up in fear and resignation.   His eyes meet those of the glowing blue skinned monster his ghost self had become.  They stare at each other for an endless moment.  At last Phantom raises his hand and blasts the boy.

And then there is only the sound of explosions and mad laughter as Phantom flies away from the burning laboratory.]




[And then Danny woke with a muffled scream]

I... I don't know. A nightmare?

It was all over the community, just like all the other ones with people dying or getting hurt. A virus, I guess?

I haven't actually checked the community much this last week. This is happening to other people?

That sucks. [He says this with feeling. He really, really had never wanted to experience what actually happened in that future. Danny was pretty sure this new memory was going to feature prominently in his nightmares for a long time.]

Bone-chilling, huh? I don't know if this disembodies our worst fears or just some kind of bad future.

I don't know if it matters.

Look on the blight side! It's over.

Which doesn't do anything for all the therapy inducing memories.

Don't be so self-decapitating. I know it was a shock, but it's not like that's really going to happen, right? Of corpse not! That would just be weird. I mean, not the good kind of weird.

[His voice is strained as he tries to come to grips with the knowledge that none of that had really happened.]

I don't think that's the best way to deal with something like this. Even... even if it's something you'd rather not think about.

The mediums in my village taught me that the harder you try not to think about something, the more you're likely to think about it when your guard's down. Like during your dreams. I don't really want to tell you what to do, Danny, but... I'm just concerned, that's all.
