It's really not so complicated. We're the same person, more or less, just different versions of the same. I suppose at some point in the future, I'll be those two, but at some point in the past, they were me. We don't usually cross paths like this, actually.

I just do not think I've known anyone to change quite so completely--no, that's not entirely accurate, I've known of shapeshifters. My father could turn into a swan, I think. Still, this is a bit different than that.

Actually, yes. We had a spot of tea with Jane Austen. Well, and a spot of bother, but mostly the first.

I'll have to tell Pepper, that sounds like the kind of thing she'd get excited about. ... But hey, while I've got your ear, you wanna explain something to me? Why do they call it a "spot" of tea? Wouldn't it be a drop? Unless it gets on your pants or something, I guess, then you could legitimately call it a spot. But do you see where I'm going with the semantics of this?

I'm following, yes. To be honest, I don't rightfully know. Perhaps it's supposed to reference 'hitting the spot', as in drinking lemonade on a summer day? Only with tea, of course.

Okay, sure, yeah. I could get behind that as a pretty decent explanation. But, then, of course, you've got the fact that "hitting the spot" is a pretty dirty thing to say about a refreshing beverage.

Not that I haven't done dirty things with refreshing beverages, mind you.

...actually, I do have something I've been meaning to ask about. You and the other yous are the local experts on time, right?

Ah, well, it's very simple. You see, I first discovered this community in 2007, going by my world's time. I was fifteen years old, and was a few months into my third year of middle school. Now, though, it's 2011, and I'm still in my third year of middle school and had my fifteenth birthday a few months ago.

That's rather odd... Has the year changed on your world as well, or is it relative to the community?

It's changed, yes. And I have four years' worth of memories as well, including things that should only happen once a year--four Christmases, for instance.

What's even stranger is that Nagisa-san, who's also from my world, was a year younger than me when she first joined the community. She went on normally for a while until she "caught up" with me, and now it's the same for her, too.

It seems like there's some sort of stasis involved... I'm not certain why. Are birthdays the only thing lacking? Nothing else you can think of?

Well, it's not just a matter of birthdays. I'm physically the same age as I was before as well. And of course there's the matter of nobody noticing anything is wrong, except people who post here--I only noticed because people keep growing past me.

I'd think it's most probably community induced, if that's the common factor. And everyone else around you ages as normal?

Not at all. Everyone's been the same in my area the whole time.

Well. I suppose it could be a sort of... time leak. Time stays relatively still for you because of the community, which then spreads outward and latches onto the rest of the town. Could that be a possibility?
