[ Natsume's walking through what looks like a forest with an umbrella in his hand, his notebook that has access to the community in the other. He stops near a tree while it's still raining lightly and talks. ]

I just wanted to let everyone know that everything turned out okay. I guess I worried some of you with my last post...

[ There's a pause, then Natsume looks out around the rain. ]

It's Sunday here so I don't have school and I wanted to show everyone something that I saw the other day. It only happens when it rains and the sun comes out. It looked light enough that I think it should soon.

[ Natsume keeps standing there while the rain keeps drizzling lightly, looking a little disappointed that the sun hasn't come out yet. Seriously it must be like 6 in the morning. Natsume shrugs one of his shoulders like he's trying to brush something off (for those with spiritual abilities, they can see it's a little green youkai that looks like a frog with really long legs and a paper mask over his face and a straw hat that had hopped onto his shoulder just because it was there. To everyone else it probably looks like he was trying to shoo a small bug though. Still waiting, so Natsume speaks up again. ]

I guess while we wait, I'll ask a question. What kinds of places are your favorites to visit near where you live?

[ Almost as soon as he asks the question though, the rain seems to let up so Natsume looks up and closes his umbrella, glancing at a field behind some of the trees he's in between as he moves the camera to show the field. As the sun starts to come out, the whole field seems to slowly light up. ]

Ayaya, you won't even think about it? Something like this could be beneficial, you never know.

It's better to keep it with no one knowing. There's no way to prove that there's anything there, it just-- it never, ever ends well if there's no reason for someone to believe you.

Would you still keep the youkai a secret from humans even if you did have proof?

[ He thinks about this for a moment, but-- ]

If everyone knew about them, then every time I came home with bruises or covered in dirt... It wouldn't just be a chuckle about how I'm a teenage boy getting up to normal teenage things and ended up a mess from the people I cared about. I can't ignore them if they're there or they need me either, so...

I'd rather protect their smiles than see the horror in their eyes every time I get a scrape, knowing that I nearly got killed or eaten because of who I am. I don't want to share that fear with anyone.

Well, I can certainly respect that kind of selflessness. But how long can you hold in a secret this big?

As long as it's important to and you don't go around trying to publish it. [ HMPH. ]

I already said I can't publish a story without photographic evidence. My photos are a very important part of my newspaper! Without them, people won't be as interested. [tru fax]

[ That doesn't mean he feels comfortable with it. If she can see them too, it just means he can't hide it from her though.
