[ Claire looks more determined than ever and she has a serious mission she needs to accomplish. She's packing a bag and pacing back and forth as she talks, looking at the screen from time to time. People respond better to direct eye contact right? ] I need a worldhop. As fast as I can get one, actually. I'll -- pay you, or something. I'll figure something out to make it worth your time just -- please. If anyone can get me to Peter Parker... The faster the better.

I know someone who knows someone with a worldhop, but I'm not really sure how fast I could get the message through. Anyone else offer yet?

I've got someone. It'll be okay. If this works, everything's gonna be fine. God, I hope it works, Buffy. I hate seeing him like that.

It'll work. He's in the hospital right? [ He's not.. dead. She's hoping. Because bringing back dead people... Well, it depends on how long it's been. Resuscitating? Okay. Anything unnatural.. ]

... Morgue. He was shot, Buffy. He didn't make it. [ God, she's worried. ]

[ It takes Buffy a little longer to respond to that. Not because she thinks it's wrong to want to save someone-- but because he's already dead. There's a reason people don't have the power to control life and death at their whim. Claire shouldn't be an exception, no matter how much she wants to save Peter's uncle.

It's like when Dawn tried to raise Buffy's mother. She knew that it was wrong but she still wanted to open that door and for her mom to be there, but she wasn't. Dawn stopped it before Buffy had been the one to go crying into her arms. So Buffy knows what it's like to want someone back. That's why she can't blame her friends for what they did and she can't blame Claire for what she wants to do.

That doesn't make it right, just because she can't blame them. Claire wasn't some kind of mystical force or crazy robot experiment trying to do something like that. But even if she can get him back, he might not be the same, even if it's not magic. When you die, your brain signals stop. They don't store information, even if he comes back he might not remember everything, or anything. If it's not too long though... Like way back when Xander saved her from drowning. ]

How long as he been dead?

[ Claire's blood can heal just about anything. She could probably cure cancer, if she thought about it. She knows there's a lot of potential there. She just has to tap into it. And this is worth it. ]

I don't know, exactly. I didn't really have the heart to ask, you know? I just -- I hope I can save him.

If it's too long, don't do it. It's wrong. If it's just resuscitating it's one thing but you shouldn't bring anyone back from the dead.

It's not like I'm using voodoo. I'm using my blood. It's medical.

The soul isn't and the soul is the one that takes the damage if someone's been gone too long. Just because you can fix the physical doesn't mean that everyone comes back right.

That's how it works in your world, maybe, but it's not how it works in mine. It might be not how it works in Peter's, either. I'm doing this. I have to help him.

You're helping yourself because you don't want to see him in pain. If it were actually saving him, that'd be one thing, but if he's already dead then there is so much damage that can't be undone from that. If anything happens and he comes back wrong you're going to have to kill him. You know that?
