Really. An entire day dedicated to the speech of the lawless, the dissolute, the disease-ridden, and the ill-educated? I fail to see why this is necessary. Certainly there isn't 'international talk like an urchin day's or 'beggar day' as well. Hasn't the future wreaked enough havoc on the King's English as it is?

Anyway James was once a good Christian so he'll ignore your dig at his religion. Even if he is rather undead these days. And at tthe hand of a savage goddess, too!]
They should be aided, no doubt, but those who turn outlaw should not be put on a pedestal. Especially those who thieve not for survival, but for greed and thrills. Especially those who also rape and murder. According to the community, we are all supposed to immitate pirates today.

He's not taking a dig at religion, he's just stating facts, after all there's no evidence Christ was was even born in December, let alone on the 25th.]
Well being the prosecutor that I am I can't agree with thievery, murder, or rape...but you're talking about International Talk Like a Pirate Day? You'll be happy to know that the future humiliates pirates. It's like pirate satire where people dress up and make a mockery of pirates.
We also have a holiday called the World Naked Bike Ride, the Thomas Crapper Day which celebrates the toilet, Medicinal Marijuann Day which celebrates cannabis, and Bathtub Party Day. Tomorrow will be Punch Day, the day after will be Hobbit Day, and the day after that will be Checkers Day. So there's something to look forward to.

How nice that you all have so much free time.

We don't. Just because something is observed doesn't make it an official holiday that everyone is obligated to celebrate, but fairness is accommodating everyone so every day has some meaning to someone somewhere in the world. Not everyone celebrates Oktoberfest, but it's one of my favorite observations.
