People usually change over time, not completely, but in noticable ways. You wouldn't say you were the same person you were as a child, after all.

I'd say it depends a lot on their circumstances.

I suppose so. If the circumstances change, do you change with them? That's the... thing of it.

In my experience, yes. Sometimes only a little, sometimes more than that. It's impossible to stay wholly unaffected by what goes on around you.

You mean while being in this place? Shit I'd say in my experience, it depends on how much they allow things to get to them, how many people they choose to get close to -- I feel like sometimes it's a choose your own adventure book... well, other times maybe not.

I've seen some people stay pretty static, while others are completely altered, and end up living worlds away (literally) from their homes. So strange.
