How much is somebody influenced by their culture and their species and how much can they break away from it?

To use a random example, are all angels dicks? Because I've never met an angel who wasn't one.

On my world, demons have killed more than their fair share of both humans and angels. You'll forgive me if I'm not immediately sympathetic without further explanation.

Demons are small-scale? Angels? "I want to purify the world and kill everybody who isn't an angel." That's what's going on right now up in Heaven.

When that's what comes down from the man up top, angels aren't who you want to look for to resist orders. At least demons can think for themselves.
