Really? I've never weighed the pros and cons of either or really thought about which may be better, rubber bands or string. Though I suppose yarn could be better as there are many different things you could do with a bit of string as opposed to one rubber band. Although if you loop a large number of rubber bands together you could have the versatility of string and the springiness of rubber bands
