[ Reimu doesn't respond, just giving the first woman a sharp look. ]

[ The second woman finally speaks up. ]

None of Earth can ever reach the moon, no matter how much they wander...Same for the moon race. And none from the moon can reach the Earth. This is one of my secret charms. The Earth has become a huge sealed chamber.

Oh, you want to play with me now? I'm afraid I lack the power to play forever, but until morning...

I wouldn't mind playing forever. But, some other time...

Now, the dawn of Gensokyo is at hand!

[ The white-haired woman unleashes a barrage of bullets at Reimu and Yukari. Yukari is quick enough, but Reimu manages to graze, one of them hitting the camera itself from its place dangling on her wrist, buzzing out in a feed of static for a good twenty minutes.

When it comes back on, a fourth has come into the void. ]

What are you playing at?! Eirin, I grant you one more chance with my power. Don't you dare lose again...you two, human and youkai! Eirin's true strength, the medicine made by my power... you will never forget this!!

[ Another beam of bullets come out, this one at least three times larger than Eirin's, Reimu and Yukari both caught by surprise. They start dodging, unable to shoot back, but the camera eventually times out on its own. ]

You keep saying that word, but I don't know what that is. Sounds like a food.

Danmaku is that expression of power by those bullets and lasers you have just seen. Those who come to Gensokyo must default to fighting with them when another challenges them to them. This is an absolute, as far as I know. Reimu challenged me through danmaku instead of a fight by raw power. It makes for a fairer battle... for the underdogs.

Dan...maku, huh? [ So it was basically their way of fighting. He looked a little perplexed. The idea of fighting without a sword or even his own two fists bothered him. ]

So even if someone like me showed up, I'd have to battle like that?

If you are challenged to one, yes. As such, those who are considerably less powerful often challenge those on an obvious high level to them; it levels the playing ground. If you and your opponent choose to not battle another with danmaku, you can use whatever abilities you wish. Understandably, no one here would challenge me to a battle without the use of it.
