[Shaky sphere video, here, taken from very high. Jecht is standing on one of the many turrets of Kefka's tower, zooming in on a small speck of snow all the way on the ground.

Only it's not a small speck of snow; it's a fairly massive pile. It looks almost like an elephant, if someone went a little crazy in the trunk department. Unfortunately, it keeps uncoiling that trunk like a whip, slamming it into the ground, and leaving cracks in the cobblestones. It's moving toward the tower. If it reaches it,the massive structure will break apart at the base.

Jecht turns the video around so it's facing him. He's shirtless, yes, despite the snow that's still falling, and there's a wild grin on his face.]

Now can I stab the damn thing?

...It is kind of rundown. [he casts Hastega on both Jecht and himself, charging in at the shoopuf.]

This is the weirdest battle ever!

We can handle it without him. He'd probably just try to make more shoopufs.

[Jecht smirks, readying his blitzball and launching it at the shoopuf. When it impacts, sparks fly, but the soft snow of the creature only compresses.]

Stand back, old man. I'll show you how to fight.

[He runs, jumping in the air and trying to slice through the shoopuf with his sword.]

[And even though the blade slices cleanly through the snowpuf, nothing happens. Because, you know, it's snow, and basically just molded together. So it melts right back into one piece. Jecht slow-claps, rolling his eyes.]

Showed me.

[Frowning, Tidus jumps out of the way until there's some distance between him and the snow-creature.]

What's the opposite of ice?

[Brb, just... staring. Forever. Didn't he already cover this?]

Use your fuckin' brain, kid, I know it's in there.

I know how to make a fire. You think you can hold it off for me?

[Jecht grins wolfishly.]

You got it, kid.

Hey, ugly!

[swordplay]

[Tidus scrambles around for some wood and rocks. Once he manages to gather enough of each, he starts making a fire.]

[And Jecht is buffeting the Shoopuf with his blitzball, keeping it off Tidus and the tower while Tidus gets the fire started. He's doing exactly what Tidus asked, not distracting him or doing anything else.]

[swordplay]

[After some time, Tidus has a fire started. Not wanting to wait, he grabs a stick and lights it, running to the shoopuf and waving it around.] Snow! Look at me!

[Jecht rolls his eyes, but he steps back and lets Tidus at it, diving for a torch of his own.]

[swordplay]

[He holds it closer to the shoopuf, slowly melting its legs and jumping when it tries to stomp on him.]

[Well, that's effective. Sort of.] Good job, kid!
