Is everyone from Earth really so eager to explore new worlds that they don't even mind being dragged from their home world? Do they think Earth is that dull?

On a related note... I'm worried that a gamble I made didn't pay off at all. But, on the other hand - I'm fairly sure that MÄR is officially open to visitors now. I don't exactly have the time to entertain guests, but I can assure you that it's well worth your time to see this world.

Well. Don't really fancy getting dragged somewhere new, but staying on Earth's just sort of. Limiting.

There's whole other worlds out there, why shouldn't we go off and see them? Go where no human's ever gone before, see things that no one else'll ever see.

That's why I went, anyway.

This isn't exactly the same as what happens over the community. I'm surprised that the stranger I summoned to this world was just as quick to accept as his predecessor, without knowing anything about it. I could have easily tricked him.

Hey, I just got here, but if there's the chance to bounce to new worlds, I'll take it! It's not the idea of leaving home, it's the chance to experience new things!

I see. [ that's an interesting point. he has no desire at all to experience new things, buried as he is in his world's problems, but he hadn't really thought too much about that. ] What if you didn't know whether or not you'd be able to return to your own world?

And let that stop me? Not a chance! I live life as free as the wind blows. If I'm stuck somewhere, I'll just keep searching for a way to get home, no matter what!

I think you might understand this kid a lot better than I ever could. So, it's all about the adventure, huh?

Well, in my case, it's partly the spirit of exploration and partly a result of the devastation that happened to Earth. About half a year ago, there was a horrible attack on the whole planet, with it nearly being taken over completely. The enemy was destroyed and we were able to do some cleanup, but that scared a lot of people into trying to flee the planet. Try and find a new world to start over and avoid quite as much attention.

I think that's a special case. The Earth that I'm thinking of is, as far as I'm aware, perfectly safe. It's just that there seems to be a pattern forming in the people we've summoned from it.

[You'd be surprised at how fast people from Kendrix's world seem to just let go of little things like the Earth nearly being subjugated. Almost like they forget all about it.]

Then it might just be that spirit of adventure, wanting to explore something new.

Oh - [ wow, he'd actually forgotten about that difference. ] Of course, you don't have any Dimensional ÄRM. You'd have to travel everywhere by boat.

[ middle ages europe... ] But that's not exactly the point I was trying to make. I brought someone here from Earth today, and he just went running around without finding out where he is or why he's here. I'd thought it was unusual, but apparently not.

Nope, just the two non-dimensional arms here. [ She waves them both briefly. ]

The Gatekeeper offers you a choice, but that's all. Which means this guy accepted, knowing nothing about what he was walking into, and now he's running around like an idiot in a world he doesn't even know.

Some people get so excited about the chance to do something that they just don't care what danger they get in.

I can't say I've met many people that reckless before.

I know people who run headlong into crime scenes without making sure the perpetrator is gone and the area is safe. Or the sort that relish danger and go looking for it. I've gotten used to it.
