[Well. Rita sure looks like she's seen better days... There are a multitude of small cuts on her arms, her clothes are slightly shredded, and she looks a little tired... but she's grinning.]

Things have been a little crazy here... after we went to investigate the aer krene - basically a spring of aer, and we almost died while we were there - then when we got back, we got caught in the middle of barely-averted war between the guilds and the empire, and then we finally tracked down Yuri's aque blastia... and we had to take on the Blood Alliance, one of the master guilds, to get it back. But now...

[She takes a deep breath.] But now it's all over. I can get back to my research - I have an assignment from the Empire to find and research the rest of the aer krene. So I get to keep traveling for now; Yuri'll take Estelle back to the capital, since I'm going a different way.

[A moment passes, and she frowns.] So why am I so... unsatisfied? The aer krene could be what finally advance blastia research by years. But... as much as I want to do it, I... kinda don't want to, at the same time.

We're fine... there were a lot of close calls, and Ragou's damned chainsaw blastia powered by the aque blastia core was nearly the end of us all. Even after we got rid of it... he still nearly killed us.

[She takes a deep breaths, and lets it out slowly.] Nothing we can't handle, but... I'll be glad to stop being in life or death situations every five minutes.

Sure feels over to me... not that there's anything I can do about it.

Believe me, I expected much worse. If there's one thing I'll thank Yuri for, it's that he always gets us out of whatever mess he's gotten us in to.

It's not over, not yet. I think...it looks like it's to the part it's might get bad for a little bit.

Please don't say that. We've had enough trouble lately to last us a few more months at least.

Well... about that. Now that our job's done, we're splitting up. Yuri's taking Estelle back to the capital, and I've got a research job from Commandant Alexei. I have no idea what Karol's doing... if I had to guess, he's probably looking for Nan, who's just as likely to kill him.

No, it's not over yet. It can't be. There's still too much wrong with your world.

[A moment of silence. Then:]

I should be angry, hearing you say that, but from you it just means we're in for more trouble. I'm really hoping your stereotypes are wrong on this one, but I'll keep an eye out, just in case.

"Too much wrong with my world" sure sounds like an insult to me, especially when we've been trying to keep things under control while we ran all over Terca Lumireis looking for that stupid aque blastia core.

[She sighs.] But you're right, there are too many problems here for me to be satisfied with. And my position aside the hierarchy means I can't do anything about most of them.

It's not in an insult. Your group is going to fix it but until you do, you'll still be together.

Great... so I've got more drama and plenty of violence to look forward to. Can't anyone ever leave us alone?

Sena, I don't want to be a hero! I want to either go back to my research or go to the capital with Yuri and Estelle! [She realizes what she's let out a moment after she says it, and her face burns red. But she's not trying to take it back... She coughs for a moment to get her composure back.]

Our world's problems are not easily fixed, either, unless we learn to mass-produce blastia somehow.

But...! [Her retort dies in her throat - Sena's right on this one.]

...dammit, I thought I'd be out of the hero business by now! Even if it means I don't have to leave, it means more things are going to happen, and I'm not going to like them. At all. And they're probably going to get me, Yuri, or Estelle killed.

They're heroes too, they'll be okay. [Even Sena realizes it might not be a good idea to bring up that sometimes, heroes die too. It's not as common, though.]

[Then she realizes something.] The other person you travel with is a kid, huh?

I... I really hope so. I worry sometimes. Between the guilds, the Knights, and the monsters, there are a lot of things that want us dead.

[She lets out a soft bark of a laugh.] Karol's a little bit deadweight. He has a fear of anything with claws, fangs, or a pointy stick, and he's been kicked out of just about every guild in Dahngrest. Then there's old man Raven and that Judith that Yuri found in Ghasfarost...
