I was hoping someone might explain this place to me. I don't really use sites like these, so I'm a little confused why it showed up out of the blue. Is this normal? And is there any way to make it go away?

The thing won't go away forever, but it ain't usually as pushy as it is the first time. Once it lets you go, as long as you pull it back up when it's not too much of a pain, probably once a week or thereabouts, it should cooperate. Most of the time.

But well, it's really nice being able to talk to so many different people from other worlds. And even meeting people from your future, like I've ended up doing here. It might be weird at first, but it's nice meeting them when you probably wouldn't have had the chance to do without the community.

As far as I've been able to tell, it's a website that exists across dimensions, and lets you talk to people. Some of the members can cross worlds, but for the most part it's just for communication. Oh, but sometimes it does weird things to everyone... you'll want to be careful about that. It should leave you alone after a little bit of using it to talk to people, but if you ignore it too long it comes back.

It's a little odd, but you get used to it. Some of the weird things the community gets up to - we just spent a week at a ski resort, before that we spent two weeks in college, and so on - help a lot with that.
