Even after living in countries outside of Japan for several years now, I suppose it still surprises me to find that a holiday like Valentine's Day is celebrated so differently. The different way cultures handle things is interesting to me and sometimes I wonder if I'll ever really get used to it.

At least the customers in the shop have been pleasant today. It's hard to tell how they will be as it gets closer to being a touch late to get a gift for someone.

Well in Japan, a girl gives chocolates to the boy she desires most. However, I've seen flowers from men to women popular in other countries.

I've seen the man give gifts to the woman instead.

.. Wait, I get it now! They must accidentally be mixing up Valentine's Day and White Day!

No. White Day doesn't exist in other countries.

You're saying people in other countries don't get chocolates back eventually?! That's practically a crime!

Sometimes they don't but usually gifts are exchanged on the same day.

Huh, I guess I sort of get it.. they don't want anyone to go hungry while the other person has chocolates to eat!

No way, it has to be! I think it's a great idea, in fact, maybe I'll ask Motoko onii-san if he'll get me chocolates if I get them for him on Valentine's Day, hehehe!

Hehe, thanks! See, I can totally be smart sometimes, I'll have to make sure to tell all this to Mama!

Mama always says that I'll never think up something smart with my kind of grades! So now I can prove to her that I'm plenty smart, right?

Intelligence is not measured by what we know in school. Some of the greatest minds in history actually failed in classes.

W.. wait, really?! But I thought they're super smart! Super smart people wouldn't just fail a class, right, that'd be weird..!

They did though. In fact, I dropped out of high school myself but I think I'm doing alright.

You did..?! But Mama says that people who do that always end up in a dumpster! So do you live in one of those..?
