Blissful Morning

[One of these posts would probably end in hilarity once the occupants of the household woke up. But Hibiki was curled up in bed, her arm draped around a form in her bed. Her bed? Actually this was Kanade's bed. She was sleeping, and dreaming of cupcakes and the sweets kingdom as usual, as she was curled up against Kanade.

Shhh, don't wake them community. Unless you really want to. Either way, once one of the two wake up, it's only going to go downhill from here.]

Mmmm cupcakes... [And her mouth closed around Kanade's ear...]

[Kanade, for her part, is vaguely aware it's much warmer in her bed than it should be. And the consistency is... off. So she's starting to wake up even without Hibiki's "help".]

Mmn... where... [A beat.] This isn't my room...

[Even with everything being weird, it's comfortable to her, but it's unusual. So when she's awake enough to realize where she is and why it's so warm, she can't even get a word in edgewise.

And then there's a nibble at her ear, and she bites down on her tongue to keep from screaming; in rage or embarrassment she's not sure, but it's coming all the same.]

[wildmelody]

Mmmm tasty... [Yeah still out like a light, but Hibiki's arms wrap around Kanade's waist and she snuggles up to her back. She sighs blissfully, her breath steady on Kanade's neck.]

[Nope, nothing weird here. Just a friend cuddling another.]

[tranquilrhythm]

['Why am I... okay with this?' There's no particular urge to get her off, or at least awake, but Kanade's conscious enough to know that's odd, and turning red slightly.

She also hasn't thought of the obvious question yet, considering she's realized this is her room: why is Hibiki here? No, she's fine with this, though eventually she'll need to get up today.]

Hibiki... wake up, please... [No action, just asking nicely.]

[wildmelody]

Mmmph...? [Slow to wake up, Hibiki started to figure out a few things within moments of gaining a little lucidity.

A. There was someone in her bed.
B. The Fairy Tones and Hummy were nowhere in sight.
3. She was cuddling a very familiar form...]

... Kanade...?

[tranquilrhythm]

[Kanade smiles, not that Hibiki can see it from this angle.] Good morning, Hibiki. Did you sleep well?

[She frowns.] I'm not entirely certain why you're here, but...

[And then she notices the red string tied to Hibiki's finger, which is still wrapped around her waist. And her face - and her back - go as red as it is, which Hibiki will be able to feel, if not see.]

[wildmelody]

I slept really nicely actually... Really good to be honest.

[Noting that she went flushing hot, Hibiki lifted her head curiously as she raised her hand, noting the red string.]

... I wonder how this got here?

[tranquilrhythm]

T-that's good... But Hibiki, you do know what that string means, right? [She fishes her own hands out of the blankets, and finds the other end tied to her finger, a slack thread running to Hibiki's hand.]

[wildmelody]

What it mea--... oh.

[It dawned on her through her sleep addled mind that she was now tied, both literally and romantically to Kanade. What to do? She couldn't obviously, well, make out with her, could she?]

Well... yeah, I do actually. I know what it means. We've been friends for a long time though, and we just started being friends again so...

[Her hand wrapped around Kanade's stomach and squeezed her gently.] This is okay, right? Laying here instead of doing anything else?

[tranquilrhythm]

[Kanade's mouth is open to say no, but she can't get the words out - in her heart, she's perfectly fine with this, resting a hand on Hibiki's on her stomach.]

Mm... a little bit longer. Eventually we need to get up, or else Souta will probably find us, and that'll be a problem.

[wildmelody]

All right. Just a little.

[A pause and Hibiki shifted to better lay against her best friend.] Remember when we used to sleep over like this all the time?

[tranquilrhythm]

I do. I liked those days... maybe we can get back to that. This is... comfortable. [She snuggles a little closer herself.]

[wildmelody]

Yeah it really is. Sometimes it's a little easier back in the days really. Just you and me, a warm bed and sleeping in on a Sunday. [Her hand moved down and squeezed at Kanade's.]

[tranquilrhythm]

Yeah... except unlike those days, it'll be hard to explain you here when nobody saw you come in last night.

[wildmelody]

I'll just say I went through the window like before.

[tranquilrhythm]

I'm not sure that's going to work, Hibiki...

...wait. That's a good question - how did you get here? I know I didn't let you in, and you weren't here when I went to bed...

[wildmelody]

I uh... I'm not entirely sure to be honest. I remember bedding down for the night and then waking up here. Maybe it's the community again.

[tranquilrhythm]

It must be... there's no other explanation, is there? If I don't know how you got here, and you don't know how you got here...

N-not that I mind.

[wildmelody]

Well... I really like being here with you to be honest. You're warm...

[tranquilrhythm]

Y-yeah... I don't mind this. It's weird, but...

[She sighs.] We probably should get up soon, Hibiki. I want to do something today. [Kanade gently grabs Hibiki's hand and removes it from her stomach.]

[wildmelody]

Well all right. [Sitting up, she yawned and stretched, noting that the string was darn short.] We should hold hands when coming downstairs so that no one notices the string.

[tranquilrhythm]

[Thankfully, it's also slightly stretchy after the last half an hour. Still though...]

You're probably right... It's going to be a little hard to work with, though. And, um... it's going to be a little awkward getting dressed like this.

[wildmelody]

Yeah no doubt. But it's not like it's embarrassing for one another. If we're stuck like this, think of all those people out there who are potentially stuck with perfect strangers.

[tranquilrhythm]

That would be... really bad. I'm glad it's us, looking at it that way.

[Kanade sighs, leaning back against Hibiki behind her.] This is going to get weird, isn't it?

[wildmelody]

Yeah. And maybe just a little. I didn't bring anything so I'll have to borrow some of your stuff.

[tranquilrhythm]

That works... we're in a little bit of a pinch, I guess. [She reluctantly gets up to start looking for something, for both herself and Hibiki.]

Hey... isn't this odd to you at all? I was freaking out about the idea of us being this close just a few weeks ago.

[wildmelody]

Yeah, and it's not like we're not the same size. [Maybe a little loose in the chest but hey...]

Not really to be honest. I mean, we're friends right? And you and I are getting closer.

[tranquilrhythm]

That's true. Give me a minute to look through this. [She finds something for herself easily enough, but spends a little more time looking for Hibiki.]

Mm, we are, but... [Kanade turns back to Hibiki, and just stares at her for a while, like she's trying to convince herself of something.]

[wildmelody]

[Take your time. It's been a while since she's been in your room, Kanade. It hasn't changed much.]

Hmm? What's up?

[tranquilrhythm]

[After a moment more, she moves back over to Hibiki with a sigh, sitting down next to her, worried.]

You're... okay with this? With us?

With me?

[wildmelody]

[Oh. OH. That's what was worrying Kanade. She smiled a little and knelt down next to her and gave Kanade a light hug.]

Yes I am. We might be... going a little fast, but I'm okay with it, really.

[tranquilrhythm]

[Kanade's visibly relieved at that.] T-thanks. I needed to hear that.

I'll... try and take it easier, but no promises. Especially not with everything we've been getting up to lately.

[wildmelody]

Heh, it's all good. Just remember to take it easier.

[And with that, Hibiki started peeling her shirt off.] I'm going to take a shower, coming with me? You can hand me the backscrubber.

[tranquilrhythm]

H-H-Hibiki! W-what are you...!? [Kanade! AVERT THINE EYES!]

I-I...! [Nope, meltdown imminent.]

[wildmelody]

Hmmm? What? You've seen in me in my underwear before. Don't worry, don't worry! Your parents are probably still asleep and Souta's probably completely out like a light. We can go take a shower together no problem!

[tranquilrhythm]

F-fine... [She still seems a little off-balance, but she knows she's not winning this one.] I guess we'd better get it over with, or we're going to have a problem. At least this situation can't get any more awkward...

[wildmelody]

Yeah. That, and I didn't have a shower last night like I usually do. [She tugged on Kanade's hand.] You can stand outside the curtain if you want.

[tranquilrhythm]

[Oops, nope, she lied, awkward is coming in buckets. She's still letting herself be dragged along, overheating along the way.]

As opposed to what!?

['Oh, now I wish I hadn't read those things I found the other day...!']

[wildmelody]

Well it's been a long time since I washed your back... but we were just kids back then. [Scratching her face a little, a little embarrassed now.]

[tranquilrhythm]

That might be... ['Bad! This is a bad idea and I need to tell her not to-'] ...good, actually. Is that okay with you?

['Kanade, what are you doing!? Be dere for her any other day, but not right now!']

[wildmelody]

I'm fine with it. But lets make sure we don't have any surprises. It's just a shower after all.

[tranquilrhythm]

R-right. Just a... yeah. [Oh Kanade. You're going to melt if you don't get yourself together and control that blush. And apparently the community has decided it's tortured her enough; as she continues down the hallway with Hibiki, the feed cuts out.]
