[ Honestly, Buffy had been about to call Finn. She'd dialed the number on her house phone and it'd rung once until suddenly she noticed the red string on her pinky and she hung up before anyone could answer, if anyone was going to at all, and grabbed ahold of the string, trying to bat it off.

Then trying to cut it off. Then when it starts tugging at her after she tries that, she grabs an actual weapon and starts to follow the string. Phone still in one hand of course, so she's able to call up the community to leave a voice post. How that works, whatever, it's the community it does what it wants it can be on a cordless phone. ]

Am I going to need a weapon if I follow this string?

[ Even if it... definitely, definitely doesn't feel like it. She can't help but go with her Slayer instincts as captured=bad. ]

[Jay had been following the string, himself, until he'd been rudely yanked forward by it that is.

Yeah, not cool. He doesn't know what's going on but he's got his gun out and he's carefully looking around the next corner as he talks to his captors... Whoever or whatever they are.]

[ Buffy can hear him talking, despite that she's positioned herself on the other side of the door with a weapon and is ready to jam it wherever she needs to. When she realizes the voice is coming from Jay she comes out and lowers it, looking way skeptical. ]

Which I don't get paid for even though I still have a little sister to take care of. You only get paid when you get hired for a job. I got chosen. Badass fighting happens after work if I have time.

Uh...I don't think you should stab whoever's on the other end. I mean, the other posts make it sound like it's something to do with Valentine's Day...and whoever's attached is probably someone from the community.

Still a risk considering where I live. I mean, it's daytime so I don't really have to worry about anyone having been bitten, but eaten, flayed, other badness? If the community's deciding to dump people in Sunnydale where I got a reward for helping my graduating class to have the lowest number of mysterious deaths in the school's history, I can't really be too safe. Honestly, really hoping whoever's there is in one piece though.

Not really. I guess it's kind of like...a forced date? Like, you're attached to someone and can't get the string off. I dunno if there's more to it though. [ but he sure hopes not >:T ]
