So, I got a question for you people. Say there's this big threat that's going to happen to your world. Like end of the world type bad.

Would you try to stick around to solve it or pack up who you love and jump ship to another world?

The literal end of the world is going to happen in my case. But it affects ALL worlds not just my own. So I'm riding it out, and going to prevent it.

I'd do both. Evacuate who I could, just in case, then staying behind to try to save the world.

Isn't it obvious? In that case you should definitely solve it! Even if you pack up who you love.. you'd be leaving behind so many people who'd be in pain..

That sort of thing just can't be right.

Why bother? It's not like every single person deserves to be saved. Hell, it's probably just a mess. What's the point in trying to save everyone?

Why? Why should you try to save a bunch of strangers? Sure, they'd be in pain but I mean. They're strangers. They probably wouldn't do the same for you so why bother?

How would I know who deserves to be saved? I don't know everyone. I don't even know most people.

You don't. So you shouldn't play the hero and save them. Not your duty. Not your fault if the world decides to end; sucks to be them.

If I have the ability to save them, and I choose not to, then that's the same as if I'd killed them myself.

... You know, I didn't consider that third option. But I still think getting the hell out of Dodge probably is the best option.

No, it's not. I'll even tell you why.

Say that an earthquake is happening in a big city. Collapsing buildings, fires, the whole place is a mess. You're taking your family to a safe house. You see a stranger; they're badly hurt. You could go back and help them to the safe house but of course, that wouldn't be the smartest thing to do. Doing that would expose your family to more danger out in the open. If you continue on that stranger is sure to die but your family, your loved ones, will be safe.

If you stayed behind and sent your family ahead, it's probable you wouldn't even make it with the injured stranger. Even on the off chance you survived, the effort would probably be wasted. They're severely injured and moving them would probably just kill them.

It's not murder if you leave them behind. The earthquake killed them, not you.

I said if I have the ability to save them. If I'd only be throwing my own life away by trying and they'd probably die just from being moved, then obviously I don't have that ability.

Put yourself in that situation. Would you know that you couldn't save them? It's easy to say that 'Well, obviously, I don't have the ability to save them so I won't bother' when you're asked a scenario question.

So, you're saying that you'd just ignore that person dying because it's not within your ability and not care at all.
