Sorry for the Double Post [Video]

[The video snaps onto a much more familiar sight: the inside of a botanical garden. Off to the side, you can barely see something massive, green and entirely huggable. The place seems serene, compared to the mass horrors of the zombie-filled mall. However, this sereneness comes to an end as something can be heard.]

Uuuuugh... ohhhh...

[Slowly a hand raises up into view, bandaged up, struggling to grab something out of view... before falling down and slapping something.]

Ow... where... where am I?

[If that voice wasn't recognizable, the figure rising up i-- AAAAAH! ZOMBIE TSUBOMI! SHE HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE TO-- Nah, she's not dead. Just very, very sore and bandaged up. Which shouldn't make sense since the last time people saw/heard her, she was becoming very dead]

...wait, is this... why am I here? Th... the last thing I remember was... [She gasps] ...the mall! Itsuki! Yuri! Everyone! Where are they?! I-I gotta get back! I--!

[Her scrambling to get up is cut off as she collapses: her strength hasn't returned to her at all, seeing as she spent two days driving herself to exhaustion.]

[Guess who has been avoiding the community ever since she saw that last post? This girl. But when she noticed a feed from Tsubomi up, Hayate's heart leaped into her chest.

Getting Signum to teleport her directly, there was a clattering as her wheelchair fell over as she launches herself bodily at Tsubomi, be damn the consequences.]

TSUBOMI-ONEECHANNNNNN!

[Glomp]

[Tsubomi is taken aback as Hayate glomps her, quickly scrambling to hold her.]

What... H-Hayate! Hayate, I...

[And she holds the girl right, trying not to cry.]

I saw it... I saw the post and... and...!

[Hayate buried her face in Tsubomi's chest, sobbing]

Oh, Hayate...

[She's quick to hold her, rocking back and forth.]

I'm sorry... I'm sorry. I'm here now... And I won't leave again...

[Hugging her tighter, Hayate whispered,] I wish you didn't go through with that...

Neither did I... [She pulled her closer, kissing the top of her head comfortingly.]

I'm so sorry...

Mmmph. How much company do you want?

Right now? I could use all the company... [she shivers a bit as she keeps holding Hayate.]

Okay. I'll call Signum and tell her I'll be here for a while.

[At some point during the fifth night, Itsuki must have managed to fall asleep. Some time later, when a nightmare finally snaps her awake, she's confused for a long moment as several thing scream at her at once: her hastily-splinted arm, all the rest of the wounds Aqua didn't necessarily get to, and the fact that she's in her bed at home. The latter of these is perhaps the most unusual, and the one bearing immediate investigation, as she looks around in shock.]

I'm... home? But... damn. That means...

[Her mind begins to whirl about what the hell she'll tell Erika... or Tsubomi's parents... And then her mirror helpfully clicks on to show Tsubomi's post. Itsuki stares at it for a good few seconds before running over to it.]

Tsubomi! You... you're alive? I'm not dreaming?

[Tsubomi is equally surprised to see Itsuki, especially since...! As that hits her mind, she quickly scrambles to the screen]

Itsuki! I... I'm so sorry! I... I just...

[Oh, look at that pitiful face she's making! She realized how much she hurt her with her sacrifice...]

[She can't respond, too caught up in Tsubomi being not dead; her knees give out and she falls back onto the floor, tears coming to her eyes.]

I... I thought I'd never see you again.

Itsuki! Itsuki!

It's... I... [and tears start welling up in her eyes.] I was so scared... I didn't want to do it, but I didn't want to lose you...

Here I spent all that time talking about protecting you, and being careful... I'm a little bit of a hypocrite. But I'm just so glad you're okay. I don't know what I would have done if I'd come back and... you hadn't.

[It occurs to her that it's probably better not to talk about having written herself off for a little while there.]

The... the feeling's mutual... I... I guess what I did was selfish and stupid, though...

[She struggles to stand up, still feeling her strength not there.] Here... you... you want me to come see you?

[Itsuki shakes her head.]

Don't ever say that. You wanted to protect someone that was important to you. You should never feel bad for that.

And I think it's best you say there. I'm in pain but I can walk. You look like you're still going to collapse at any moment.

[And Tsubomi does fall back over. She sighs and stays in a sitting position]

...well... alright. I'll... I'll be waiting... ...I'm sorry I hurt you, though...

[As Itsuki moves to shut off the screen and get ready to go to the flower shop, she catches Tsubomi's last comment and pauses, her face breaking into a thin smile.]

Don't be. I'll see you soon.

[Once she's got her friend off the screen, she struggles to change into day clothes with a lame arm, and sets off across town. She reflects on the way how much her various cuts, bruises, and occasional bite are stinging, but those aren't important now. Someone needs her. Someone important.]

[As seems to be her procedure, Itsuki taps at the door to the shop as she comes in, greeting Tsubomi's parents, and directing conversation away from the few scars on her legs and the obvious broken arm; "I'm going to the hospital in a bit, but I wanted to see Tsubomi first" is the line the other girl may catch.

Once she's evaded suspicion, she heads upstairs, a gentle tap on the door heralding her arrival.]

Tsubomi? May I come in?

[Not that she's expecting a no answer, but the whole politeness thing was drilled into her enough that even when she's off-balance, it's still there.]

[Tsubomi jumps a bit, but is very glad to hear that voice in person. She attempts to stand again, but fails in it again.]

Y-Yes... yes, you can, it's unlocked!

[The door swings open as the girl lets herself in, all pretense of being calm lost as her eyes dart around the room to find Tsubomi. Once she locks on, she's there, with an awkward one-armed hug.]

I'm so sorry... I don't even know how to apologize for this. This should never have happened.

[Tsubomi gasps as Itsuki hugs her and as she returns the hug, she lets out a choked sob, just so grateful to have Itsuki here.]

It's my fault, Itsuki. I shouldn't of gotten separated from you. I...!

[And she bursts into tears now.]

[Admittedly, Itsuki is unsure how to comfort Tsubomi again, especially when she's still convinced she herself is at least a little to blame. She settles on running her hand through her friend's hair, hoping to calm her down at least a little.]

It's okay, it's okay... it's not your fault. Nobody is to blame for anything that happened in that hellish place.

[Her expression quirks a little.]

And why are you apologizing, anyway? You got out a lot worse than I did.

[She was absolutely certain her best-friend-and-then-some would have some mental scars from this for a long, long time.]

[She starts to calm down a little bit, feeling Itsuki running her hand through her hair, but she's obviously still shaken by all of this.]

I...I know, but if I hadn't gotten separated from you, things wouldn't of gotten as bad as it did. I... I just... I...

[She just buries her face into Itsuki's shoulder, shivering.]

Take it easy. It's over now. [She keeps trying to be reassuring as she goes, putting her free hand on the back of Tsubomi's head.]

I'm not going to leave you alone again. I swear it.

[She smiles as she starts to calm down, sighing a bit.]

...and I won't leave you ever again...

[Yuri should probably be saying something. Maybe it's because of the pain from the injuries she's sustained, maybe it's simply fatigue, maybe it's just because of the shock of seeing Tsubomi alive... But she can't think of anything to say.

So Yuri's just... staring at the video.]

[And Tsubomi's gonna look away, both embarrassed and ashamed.]

Y-Yuri, I, um...

Tsu- ...Cure Blossom. [Yuri looks the other way briefly and lets out a sigh of relief.]

I... apologize for staring. I am simply surprised to see you.

D-don't be...

I should apologize... F-for what I did.

Don't be ridiculous. What on earth do you have to apologize for?

In the mall... I...

...I ended up dying to save Itsuki... she tried to get me out, but... but, I knew I would only slow others down and...

That's still nothing to apologize for. You did what you thought best, given the situation. No one can fault you for that.

Just... please don't let it happen again.

[That shouldn't be possible nothing about this whole situation should be possible but here it was she was alive and... it was the community's doing. Of course.]

You're... Tsubomi-san. It's alright. None of us are there anymore.

Honoka! I... y-you're not there, either? Oh... oh, thank goodness...

[She's going to try to stand again aaaaaaaand not going anywhere.] So tired...

No. I'm not.

[She lets out a sigh of relief herself.]

But just try to rest for now. You don't look good at all.
