If you focus on it all the time, then you don't get to experience what it is you're continuing on for in the first place and you lose sight of it. There's no problem with wanting to focus on work or duties, but everyone has to take a break sometimes.

If the person really loves their job just because they love their job you can look at it this way too: If they don't experience anything else, then that feeling will dull. Like eating your favorite food every day. It's really delicious, but after a while you get sick of it and start to forget why you loved it. If you have other things, you can go back to it and say "this is the stuff!"
