So, semi-regular update to make sure I don't get accidentally recorded again... That and I'm just really excited.

We won for our first competition! Wanda showed up and I'll spare you a long story there but it's normally hard for me to compete in front of her. This time I got over it, I flew, and we won. Being up there, it's a lot more amazing than I imagined.

So, I want to celebrate. Anybody game? Some drinks, some ribs, or something cool in your world to show me? When things slow down, I want to take advantage of actually being able to see a lot more out there.

I did gymnastics in high school and always liked the team. I just didn't think cheerleading would be the same.

What happened with the dancing?

Mm, it does sound like it could be very good exercise.

Oh, well, I couldn't manage to keep it after a few years. It's really unfortunate but one day I really should pick it up again.

Yeah, it really takes up a lot of time. If I knew how much practice went into it, I might have changed my mind about them before joining the squad.

What kind did you do? I do a little street dancing.

I did a little traditional dance.

Traditional as in school dancing or traditional as in big skirts and folk music? Not judging either way but the second one's not too common.

Traditional Japanese dancing.

I haven't seen a lot of that. How does it work? [She's interested in dancing in general, though she doesn't really branch out too much.]

Well, I'm not quite sure how to explain it myself. It's been quite a long time since I've stopped going to my lessons, unfortunately.

I guess I could always do a search and find out. Something tells me it might not be my kind of thing but it might be cool to watch.

So, through the power of the internet, I just took a look. [It's so different from what she's used to. She's more familiar with upbeat, fast movement kinds of things.]

Did you do the outfit thing, too? The kimonos and makeup?

Only the kimono, and that was only for recitals.

What about the fans? They seemed to be pretty important to the dance.

We did use those.

Looks pretty cool. I don't think I'll be converting anytime soon, though. I've never been good on the slow stuff.

To be honest, the more modern dances are far more my style as well.

Then you've tried some of it? What kind?

I can't say that I know what it's called but I sometimes mimic the dances I see in music videos. It's rather embarrassing to admit.

It shouldn't be. Some of those videos have some really good moves. But some are full of boy bands shaking their hair so you have to be careful not to catch those.
