However, we have not been able to see the real stars from earth for ten years, here.

Ten years? I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't see the stars for more than a few nights. I'm too used to my night sky, I guess.

But you keep saying "real" stars - is there some kind of image you see instead?

May I ask what has happened to your world for you to need to ask these questions?

It depends on what world you are on. There are some where the stars are hidden others where they are clear and some - like mine - with so many that they blur together into a continuous sheen.
