Good evening. [Edgar looks quiet happy at his desk.] It seems that the time has come for the lover's holiday. Sadly, it seems that not everyone has found the person to spend it with. Since I enjoy seeing those in love, I offer my services.

[He stands and walks to the front of his desk.] So, I'd like to propose an offer. If you would leave me your name and a bit about yourself, I'll arrange a date for you and one other special person. They'll take place in my world but, as an Earl, I am allowed certain advantages that would be helpful. Since there seems to be other festivities planned, they will take place on what would seem the 11th, for the community.

[ooc note: matchmaking Edgar! Think of this as a classified that he will use to match two characters up and pay for the date. You can also sign each other up and I'll have an OOC post for those who wish to be signed up but wouldn't ICly do it.

Also, sorry for the short notice. I don't want to take any time away from Kendrix's party so I wanted to have a few days in between :).]

I take it if we don't sign up, we don't have to participate? [ Otherwise it's a wonderful event but she has to make sure this isn't some huge ploy to set her up somehow or the other. Because Edgar would. ]

It's not much of an offer if I'm trying to force it. Is there someone you're worried about?

You know exactly what I'm worried about, Edgar!

[ Don't try to bullshit your way through this! ] I'll help out if you want, but I'm not going on any dates with anyone.

I wouldn't dream of having you go on a date with anyone else and this seems a bit extreme to ask you out myself, as I've done so numerous times.

[He grins.] I can even do so right now, if you'd like.

[ Well, he does have a point. It would be a little extreme to go to this length since he just talks her into stuff before she knows it usually.. ]

I would not like. [ She knows that won't stop him though, so she's got to add ] For one thing, I'm busy!

I'm sure I can help you free up your time. What is it you need?

Nico is going to take me to a party in the fairy world.

[ Well, more like he asked her and she declined, but she can go tell him that she changed her mind since Edgar can't come to fairy world parties. ]

Remind me to have another talk with Nico. It's not very easy to convince you to go to a party and I'd like to know the secret.

He's not constantly trying to seduce me, for one thing.

[ Just as an idea. Also fairies don't judge her for being different. ]

If I were to stop trying, would you be more open to the idea?

If I thought for one second that you actually intended it, I might consider it.

[ It's not that she doesn't like Edgar, but his constant attempts at seducing her.. well, it's hard for her to deal with. ]

If I thought it were possible to keep myself away from you, I would try a bargain but as it is, I'm weak to your presence.

I happen to think it's very possible for any gentleman with manners.

[ So. There. :T ]

Then would you grant me a night if you have my word I would be a complete gentleman?

On St. Valentine's Day or tonight?

[ Because Valentine's Day... that's too much!! ]

[That doesn't mean he won't push his luck.]

Wouldn't it be best to celebrate on the holiday?

Valentine's Day is a holiday for.. for lovers, so I wouldn't be celebrating it with you, Edgar.

It's a day to celebrate not having to be alone. Even if you won't recognize me as something more, you at least recognize me as being a friend, don't you?

Of course I see you as a friend.

[ Is he finally accepting a position in her friend zone!? ]

[Don't be silly.]

Then there's no reason for either of us to be alone on that day. We have a lot to celebrate, don't we?

[ Wha.. ]

I'll invite Nico as well!

[He wondered if he could bribe Nico to stay. The fairy was easy enough to bribe but it was difficult to tell when his protectiveness would pop up.]

Of course.

[ Good, it is just a friendship thing. He wouldn't agree to Nico coming if it wasn't, right? Lydia seems to relax a little. ]

Where are we going then?

[He wouldn't agree if he didn't plan on having Nico not come.]

A celebration wouldn't be complete without food. I'll need a bit of time to make arrangements.

[ She'll learn this someday.. ]

Just how big are you planning on making this? Don't go overboard.

Of course not. It'll be small enough to be enjoyable.

[Get ready for this.]

[ She's really unsure about this.

To be enjoyable. That's what I'd like to get from this night, Lydia. I'd like for us all to enjoy it.

Then I don't have to wear a fancy dress?

You'd look beautiful in anything.

[Expect some to be coming by.]

Th-Then I'm just going to wear my normal clothes.

[ Don't call her beautiful, Edgar, she can't deal with that. She's already spending time with you on Valentine's Day.. ]

Ah, you were the day we met, as well. We were in a very bad situation but I couldn't stop thinking that you were even more beautiful than I had imagined.

That-- [ God, she's getting flustered. What is she supposed to do though? He never listens... Her voice raises a little. ] It's just normal clothing, Edgar! It's not even a nice dress, it's just what's comfortable.

[His next words seem to be to himself. Or, rather, he seemed to pretend they were, looking to the side as if thinking.]

Perhaps it was you that was making the clothes seem beautiful.

You don't get tired of saying things like that with anyone, do you?

[ It's too bad she's pretty convinced that she's not beautiful. ]

I'm more amazed that you never grow tired of fighting the truth about your own beauty.

The only person who ever says that is someone who says it to anyone female.

When I'm in your presence, no other female matters. You seem so unsure how I could be faithful but if it was with you, there would be nothing more I could ask for.

It's when you're not that makes me doubt you.

Oh, is there a time when you don't? [He smiles, enjoying the simple teasing they could do.]

It's the evidence that makes me doubt you full time!

[ No, it's true, she doesn't.. always doubt him. Sometimes she even really believes him before she manages to reign herself back to what she thinks is reality. ]

I'd be happy to show you more evidence of how much I enjoy being with you.
