accidental video;
[ When this post starts up, it doesn't look like it's from any of Yuri's worlds. That's because it isn't. It's just some regular school, obviously on break for lunch, and there's a girl with her hair tied back in a ponytail. She's got a green ribbon in her hair with a little golden butterfly clip in it, her bangs still down and cleanly cut. It's a different school uniform. This one's got a plaid green skirt with a plain white, short sleeved blouse and a little green ribbon beneath the collar. It offsets her bright magenta hair quite a bit, but that's why she keeps it tied back to make sure it doesn't seem overpowering.
There seems to be some kind of conversation going on between her and two other girls all sitting with their tables turned together in the classroom. ]
Hiroshi's sister told me that he's going to ask you out, Yuriko.
What are you going to say?
She's going to say yes, obviously.
What, are you expecting me to make chocolates or something? It's already Valentine's Day, it's not like I can go back in time to!
[ The girl who certainly looked like Yuri laughed a little as her friends started teasing her about how that's better since she'd probably kill him if she had made chocolate, hitting one of them in the arm, but rather suddenly stopping and shutting her eyes. ]
Yuriko? What's wrong?
I'm fine, I'm just-- Dizzy. I think I'm going to go to the nurse's office. [ 'Yuriko' stood up from the table, her hand supporting her on the desk as she did, her friends looking pretty concerned. She smiles, waving her other hand dismissively. ] I'm fine, I'll be back later. Tell the teacher I went to go rest.
[ With that, she makes it to the door, opens it, and there stands Hiroshi with a bouquet of stargazer lilies. ]
Y-Yuriko!?
[ He clearly wasn't expecting her to open the door right as he was about to come in, but the flowers dropped to the ground as suddenly so did the girl, completely fainting. The video seems to black out at that point.
It doesn't seem like it's done if you keep watching though. About 20 seconds of blank screen later, it looks like the sun is setting in the window of the nurse's office as Yuri starts coming to. Her hair is down now, her ribbon and clip taken off to the side desk along with her reading glasses case and her backpack on the floor next to it. The lilies were sitting there too. She sits up slowly, looking around then looking down at her hands. Obviously something is wrong. The school nurse comes in after a second though and she quickly puts her hands down, looking up attentively at him. ]
Are you feeling any better? It seems like you fainted at lunch time. And on Valentine's Day of all things, poor dear.
[ Yuri looked up at her, there definitely being a different look in her eye than there was before. Instead of that carefree attitude, she looks like she knows something's very, very wrong. ]
I'm fine. I need you to call someone to take me home, just in case I get dizzy again.
[ That wasn't the reason. She had no idea where she was or what was happening, that was the reason. Last thing she remembered was.. well, it was disappearing so that her soul could reincarnate and the person who she became after that could live a happy life. Not suddenly waking up with very vague memories of everything that had happened in this life quickly being forgotten as her old ones start reawakening and she doesn't know why.
The nurse gives her a look because she looks anything but 'fine' right now, but goes to call someone. The video ends after Yuri quickly jumps out of bed and goes through the things next to her, the backpack, trying to find a wallet to figure out what the hell is happening. Why the hell she's pretty sure she's alive and whoever used to be here is fading fast. ]

[battler stood up when she said something like that to him. he held the clip in his hands, it was his turn to feel the edged of that accessory digging into his palm. he shook his head, wanting her to at least understand.]
I didn't think this would happen I....
[he thought that her body would be revived, much like how it happened with beato. he had tried to revive beato and it had ended relatively okay, he figured it could happen with yuri too.]
...I know I was selfish... aah I know it, I sure do know it! However being without you.... even the first couple days it was so painful I....
[he regrets it but he doesn't.]
I should have consulted with you I know, but... you were determined to save me from dying, I didn't want you to disappear entirely either. People would have missed you just as much as I would have so I just....

[ Yuri looks around for a moment. She has to figure out where the closet was, but once she locates it she goes over to it and starts looking for a jacket with a hood. She doesn't want to deal with being spotted by anyone that might recognize her right now, she can't.
Once she grabs it, she turns back to Battler again. ]
I saved your life by doing what I could, with your permission, so that you could have a chance to keep living. So you could have the chance I never had just to be happy despite everything. If you'd said no, I would've backed off. It would've hurt, but it was always up to you. I didn't have a life to save and I made peace with that. I had everything I'd wanted and that was enough.
[ Yuri put the jacket on, not looking at him while she did, not sure if she should say anything else. No, she at least wants him to understand what he did. Why she can't even be in the same room with him right now. ]
You killed someone for yourself, not for me. You had every opportunity to ask me. I even asked you what deal you made with Bernkastel and you didn't tell me. I stopped asking because I trusted you. That tells me that you knew what you were doing and you knew that I wouldn't be okay with it but you did it anyway. Don't pretend like we did the same thing, Battler.

she was right, that was a completely fair thing to say. it was all done because he had given her permission to, he had said it was okay. the reason he didn't tell her was because he knew she would say no, and he was selfishly holding on to her.
beato wanted to die but he wanted her to live more than anything as well, yuri wanted to disappear but he couldn't stand the thought. he was losing everyone he held dear to him, his family was now gone and only his sister and aunt remained.
battler attempted to speak but he just couldn't swallow the thump in his throat. he had wanted to grow up with yuri, to grow old with yuri, to have a family with yuri. all of this was so useless though, so fucking useless! battler closed his eyes tightly, fighting the stinging sensation behind his eyelids. he wanted to scream, to break down and cry, but he held it all in.]
...Okay.
[he stifled a sob, he couldn't lose it in front of her.]
Let it be known though that I hadn't figured this would happen at all. I wanted you to move on, but I figured you would have been brought back as a human. I didn't want you to feel bad if I grew old and you didn't...
[he blinked back the tears.] I'm so sorry... I'll go now.
[and with that, battler began to leave and go back to his own world.]

She felt so trapped.
As he turned back, she started shaking. She wanted to scream at him suddenly. He'd brought her back. She was alive, and yet she couldn't have anything she'd wanted to be alive for. She couldn't trust Battler no matter how much she loved him, she couldn't have her own life, she couldn't tell anyone. Every one of her friends from the afterlife that she loved so much was gone. Her friends on the community either weren't close enough to her or couldn't even understand what was wrong with this. Why was the only one she wanted to just hold onto walking away from her? Why did he have to be the one to do this?
Yuri couldn't hold it in any longer. As soon as he was just far enough to not be able to turn back, Yuri fell to the floor. She'd been shaking so badly since he turned around, but she didn't want him to see her break.
She hated him so much because of how much she loved him. This was the price of being alive again. ]
