Okay, if I'm very, VERY lucky, Prof. Collins is only going to think he had a bad night, and I'm not going to end up in the worst trouble of my life.
...So. Since I've probably confused everybody, I just made a huge mistake, thought my new teacher was a shapeshifting snake creature, attacked him, learned I was wrong, and then dropped him in every swimming pool leading to his house. Okay, it wasn't just me--the other Guardians helped, but they were following my lead.
We tried to cover up all the damage by setting him down on a chair, spreading crickets around him, and releasing his pet lizard so it'd look like it got out while he was asleep. And I have no idea if he's going to buy it.
And worst of all, I have to put up with Caleb telling me "I told you so" for the rest of my life.

But you shouldn't have released his pet. What if it gets away?

Okay, whew. Everything worked out, and the lizard's safe too.

Then you should rest. It sounds like you didn't get a very good chance to.

Or you could set a trap, though you would have to be prepared for them to spring the trap on purpose and counter-ambush you.
