Who all here owns animals? And who doesn't, but takes care of them anyway? Tell me your stories. We were doing so well and now we're dead again.

I have one. A pet possum that I picked up out of the forest.

I named him Tiberius. He is a fine pet.

Is that safe? Guess I shouldn't talk, but stray and feral are different.

He has not done anything dangerous. And we have had Fluttershy check him for health and he passed it.

That's probably the main thing. Usually they tend to run away when you get them inside, feral animals. Unless they're really young.

Wild animals are very different from feral. The only truly feral animals we have are our more dangerous creatures, like Manticores, BugBears and the ilk. Equestria is full of wild animals with a fairly strong sense of identity. He would not be with me without some kind of comfort, neigh do I force it upon him.

Oh yeah. I forgot I was talking to a pony.

Our lands are tame and regulated. With some wild frontier exceptions.

Okay, so "a pony other people can talk to besides me". Got it.

Actually, I've got a pet turtle. I won him at a festival a couple of months ago.

Aww. Our festivals gave out baby chicks.

That's cute. But I think a turtle's easier to keep in my apartment.

Yeah, chickens need fresh air. As for me, I'm just friends with a bunch of neighbourhood animals. It's better than letting them fend for themselves.

That's actually a good idea. I wonder if I can try to set something like that up with work or school. It's not good for the strays when it floods.

And they need food and people to look after them, too. Shelters here aren't so good, so I take care of anyone I see.

I don't know how you'd go about it, but could you figure out a way to set up your own shelter? Maybe through school or something?

That might be nice, but there'd be a lot of problems.
