He's not really that bad a guy so can one of you talk some sense into him before it's too late?

...He's already taken a bullet but he won't listen to me. If he's always said the same kind of stuff, it doesn't matter, guys like that don't last in this world. I don't get how he's made it this long so just talk to him, make him stop.

See? Everybody knows them. If you like the guy at all, you have to help me convince him that you can't just take on a gang and not kill anybody. If a bullet won't do it, I don't know what'll get through his thick head.

Gaaah... [This is more of a headache than he needs. He still isn't actually sure who he's dealing with on this account; someone apparently judged him as Vash the Stampede, and to be certain he looks the part, and if looking the part were as much of a problem as it seemed to be, most people would just change. But by that logic, so too would Vash the Stampede. He matches his own information on him, but...

Then there's this kid. One, apparently in a dangerous situation. Two, apparently in the care of Vash Who May or May Not Be The Stampede. Three, has apparently seen lost technology on his person besides the communications device. Four, Vash WMoMNBTS apparently has a bullet in him. Five, Vash WMoMNBTS is either an insufferable pacifist or out of bullets. To be fair, one can probably never have enough bullets against a full gang. But given the kid's tone that doesn't seem to be the case. Six, there's his job. Find him. Whether this is the man in question or not, he has no idea where he is.

There are probably more complications than that too but for the time being he'll work through those. That's enough on his plate.]

First thing's first. Where are you? Are you safe, ...? [There's a pause there, trying to ask his name, too.]

[This guy doesn't seem as fishy as the other guy, who was claiming to be able to help without actually being on the steamer.

Kaite speakes quickly, as they had very, very limited time.] We're on a sand steamer, it's been hijacked by the Bad Lad Gang and we only have about ten minutes before they run it into a cannon so nobody's safe! He's bleeding and he still thinks he can fight them and instead of killing them, the idiot takes the time to wrap them up! Somebody has to talk him out of his stupid ideas and there's not a lot of time...

I won't say what it is but he has a plan... it's working so far but I don't even know if he's going to bleed out from that one bullet. If he gets shot again...and he's only getting into more and more trouble.

[While Legato usually didn't pay much mind to maggots if they weren't useful to his tragedy, the fact that this maggot was using Vash's prop and obviously someone from the same world caught his attention. While the script didn't make him smile, it was a little delicious that Vash had taken a bullet. One little bullet wouldn't be enough to harm a superior being, and while Legato would never physically attack Vash himself, he could still enjoy the pain others caused him.]

We're not friends. We're acquaintances at best, but you needn't worry. Even if he is a misguided, pathetic fool, he won't die. He's not underestimating how strong their characters are, but how corrupt they are. They really should die.

Are you on the steamer? Even if you're not a friend, can you help him? I agree he should just shut up about not wanting to kill anybody and just protect his own skin but I don't know how to make him listen.

[If this maggot was near a few rodents or insects, Legato might be able to clear a few away for him. Vash wouldn't like it..but Legato would. It would be both fun, productive, and create a good first opening act in the tragedy. The first act was always important, after all.]

I'm not on the steamer, but I can still help your friend. [Like that maggot had any right to call himself Vash's friend.] I simply need to see who the antagonists are on this stage. Then I can aid him.

[Even if it wasn't in the way Vash would like to be helped.]

Simply remind him of the evil these rats have done, all the men, women, and children they have slaughtered out of pure greed and the fact that they would do it again and again if they could. Keeping them alive won't change their goals. Again, you needn't worry though. He won't die here.

It doesn't matter...I'm not around them. [Vash was; Kaite was in charge of using the sounding pipes.] But I did tell him all of that! He just went on and on about second chances. Guys like that die young, they end up cheated and hurt and used! There's a reason people like that don't make it in this world!

I see. He's quite stubborn, so it may be useful to remind him while pointing out examples in the script. You don't have to worry about him dying though. He's wearing a blindfold, but that won't stop him from getting through this. Though you are right. Even if people like that don't die, their terrible eyesight makes them run into things they could have avoided, so they're always covered with scars. People like that can't tell the vermin apart from cats, so they always let the rodents live, which causes trouble.
