Um... so I think it gave me a magical girl show because it's making fun of me. But if they're in elementary school, how can they do anything? I mean, at least we were in middle school...

It must be awful. Wanting to be a different person, I mean. But a lot of people feel like --

That poor girl was rejected in front of the whole school.

I'm really not the person to be criticizing this, maybe, considering my, um, history with being overlooked or rejected on the grounds of "they would go to prison" when I was younger, but why is the 17-year-old acting so creepy towards this elementary school girl...

I'm not sure this is a very good idea they should probably get off of that construction site -- um, yes, I'm kind of disturbed.

I know! It's a little, um... well, that and he's clearly sort of evil or at least suspicious, but.

I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised with age differences, ahem, Sailor Moon, but really.

That one wasn't that bad in most versions! Only the anime put him in university.

Really? Well I suppose that's the case then.

...If the student council is rigged so that only magical girls and boys can participate, wouldn't somebody have noticed the strange selection process? It's a school, so it isn't as if hiring practices are confidential like for my workplace.

That sounds like an ulterior motive to me. I mean, it's the most obvious of plots.

When you're living it, or something like it at least, then it's just a convenient cover. I suppose a student council would still be yelled at like we were by customers, though.

It appears to be a fantasy about traveling through space on ships resembling old Earth trains, but the setting is forty years ago.

For all of the fantasy, I must admit that some of the Earth architecture is accurate to today. And the commentary on poverty is welcome in what appears to have been made for children. Although, given my own world's Earth, I do have to wonder about the "human hunting" and if the world this comes from has anti-alien sentiments.

Hmm, sounds like Galaxy Express 999. It's definitely a science fiction thing but there's a lot of ethical messages in it.

That is apparent. Although, I am concerned about a young child, so soon after witnessing a horrific murder, going and committing similar acts in revenge.

Yeah, the movie is about "Hate Cycles" as well. Where atrocities beget other atrocities.

Then perhaps I should watch more of it sometime. John might even enjoy it.

It would be good. Galaxy Express 999 is one of the "classics" revived for a new generation.

I will have to bring it up with him, then, for one of our few quiet moments.

It's a fun series. Though it's thought provoking.

The universe can always use more of that.

I think so. It helps keeping down careless problems.

Mostly in other worlds. Though at least it's not bad right now.
