His body twitches in some kind of unpredictable rhythm and then something HAPPENS. Like a doozy or falling anvils or something.

Maybe. I don't believe in many higher forces but this is ridiculous. Berry should not be able to predict the future so accurately.

... that's almost frightening. He wouldn't do it without a good reason though.

What if he doesn't know he's doing it? Like he's got powers he's not aware of and he's only using what he thinks he can do?

There's an idea. Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way... trying to explain something that can't be explained by normal means.

Okay, I was going to say, "Wasn't there somebody who used to fight inside mirrors?" but a bucket of sponges is way weirder.

Yeah, it's weirder than that at least. Especially since the bucket was too shallow for anypony to be sitting inside.
