Locked from Dita

It may be a bit early to ask, but I'd like to get a good sense of what to do ahead of time...what do couples do on Valentine's Day?

See, this is the first time in a while that my partner and I have had a vacation of sorts. Since Valentine's day is around the corner and we've never experienced the holiday for ourselves, I would like to get a few ideas for the special occasion. Any suggestions?

What's....Valentine's Day?

Oh, couples can do a lot of things! Like go out for a special bite to eat, do something you both enjoy, put on a little romantic music...

It can be anything, but make sure you do it together~ ♥

Allowed? D: Why wouldn't you be allowed!? This is a special occasion!!

I don't know yet, actually! I'd like to go out at least. It's been such a long time since I've dragged my Kosuke-kun out anywhere.

Sigh. I don't know how you two stand it. They better give you a holiday!

Not yet. Oooooh, maybe he has an idea and is going to surprise me!! ♥ He's so thoughtful like that.

Oooo, I see. I guess when you're that important, holidays are hard to come by. Even if Valentines comes and goes, you can still do something nice with your sweetheart whenever you get the chance.

It depends a lot on the person! I love surprises and Kosuke knows that.

Wonderful thinking! ;D

Anytime~ Good luck with your date!

Kinda like what you do on a marriage/dating anniversary! Except you don't have to be with them for a while. Like, you do the same things. Flowers, chocolates, and stuff. For the one you love/like or whatever.

I'ts a cute holiday!

Well, it really depends on the person. Most people go on dates on Valentine's Day, but I understand that most of Japan has a strange social structure where girls are expected to get chocolates for all the guys in their lives...

What you're really looking for are suggestions on what to do for the day though? Hmm... Well, what does she like to do? Let's start from there to figure something out.

[identity profile] rainbowdolllove.livejournal.com 2008-02-09 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm... Well, that makes things a bit harder, especially when you don't know what kind of things she likes...

What girls usually enjoy? Hmm... dolls? ...No... things that go boom? ...No... money? ...No...

...Umm... What senses do you have, out of curiosity?

[identity profile] rainbowdolllove.livejournal.com 2008-02-09 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Well, flowers could still work then. Make sure they have a good scent, though. It's important to try to find something that appeals to the senses, I think.

...Well, I'm partial towards dolls, but most people think it's childish. Cute clothes are good too, especially if they feel nice... But then, most people seem to prefer something practical...

[identity profile] rainbowdolllove.livejournal.com 2008-02-09 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Some people are like that after all, so there's nothing that can be done about that.

To be honest, I consider both dolls, so it comes down to which you think she would prefer. Stuffed animals are good because they're soft, too...

Ah... I'm Alice. Alice Margatroid. It's nice to meet you, and good luck on Valentine's.

((OOC: Ahahaha... Of course, come Valentine's, she's not going to be so supportive.))

[identity profile] rainbowdolllove.livejournal.com 2008-02-09 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, just Alice is fine. It always seems strange to me to have that much formality.

((Oh, she's the Valentine's type... It's just that when 2 PM rolls around, she realizes that she's alone again and the the only people that care about her are her dolls... And then she goes around cursing any happy couples she finds.))

Well, this is the first time I'll actually have a girlfriend on Valentine's Day, so I guess I'm not the best person to ask, but... I'll be giving her flowers, and maybe taking her out for a meal. Seems to be a good thing to do.

[identity profile] best-turk-evar.livejournal.com 2008-02-10 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, tell me about it. It doesn't matter how many books you read or films you watch, when you're actually with someone, it's totally different...

[identity profile] ps-guesswhat.livejournal.com 2008-02-09 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
How long have you and him/her been together? I think that drives a lot of what you do on V-day.

[identity profile] ps-guesswhat.livejournal.com 2008-02-10 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Three years. I can't even remember what that was like.

What about a little holiday trip somewhere? Just the two of you? Or .. is there something you both enjoy doing? Skiing or hiking or anything like that?

What city are you talking about?
