To the members of this community,

I am certain that everyone is aware of the importance in the entity of power. Logically, a certain amount of strength is necessary for survival.

However, history has proven many instances where people have succumbed to their greed of acquiring too much power. They can be easily led down the wrong path, and then left wandering around in the eternal darkness of their own creation. Power that exceeds reasonable limitations would likely cause fear and discontentment amongst many of the bystanders affected by the carrier.

And yet, in spite of knowing these dangers, people continue to have the desire to become stronger, and some pursue their goal relentlessly, regardless of the possible consequences.

Those of you that may have been affected by, or even experienced this ordeal, what would you be willing to risk, and perhaps even relinquish completely, in the pursuit of power? How does one decide which point is appropriate to stop?

Signed,
Gaara of the Desert

Responsibility, yeah--you should fix anything that you can--but I fixed myself.

Huh, okay. I'll keep that in mind.

...huh. "Need to maintain"? I'm guessing if you're saying that, your scientists didn't come up with anything that says Awaker's the spawn of Satan or whatever.

Sure, if it's not too much trouble for you.

...right, your world probably has something else completely. He's, uh. The devil, father of lies, king of hell and all that is fire and brimstone, yadda yadda yadda.

Wait, what? They said something was funny, but...so they actually figured it out?

It was a joke, Gaara. Probably a bad one, but no, my dad's not ruling over hell and all the souls of the damned. Though I have heard a few people say the devil is either a lawyer or a businessman.

...mito-what? I'm pretty sure I have a skeletal structure just like any other person.

Nah, most people are being sarcastic when they say that. Lawyers just have a bad reputation.

...okay, I've heard of cells before. Not that I actually understand them. So. What kind of anomaly is it? Harmless quirk, kinda suspicious, or--nah, it can't be that serious, you would've told me sooner. But what's up?

((strike is hackable!))

Well, yeah. And that makes other people jealous. Plus some sneaky lawyers try to get guilty clients off on stupid technicalities...everyone knows who did it, but they still get off scot-free.

...Could you be a little more specific? In my experience, "unusual" often means "will gladly rip off your head, turn your skin inside-out and wear your intestines like a feather boa." What do they think so far?

Hey, I got taught biology perfectly fine! I know my organs and my bones and all that, my world just doesn't have cells or something. I don't know!

...as in, usually unusual is a bad thing. In my experience. So I'd like a little more detail.

A cycle of cells. Okay. And I'm not really sure about the DNA thing, I didn't even hear about cells or DNA until I joined this community, how am I supposed to figure these things out? Just, is it a good effect or a bad one?

((He feels like he's got a body full of ticking time bombs right now. ...wow. XD A LITTLE REASSURANCE, GAARA?))
