[The air is clear around him, as Ivan stands on the edge of a building, looking down into the strategically placed laptop. He looks forward, into the bright, brittle blue sky. The birds aren't chirping yet. Everything is oddly hushed, as if waiting for someone, anyone to breathe. Behind him there's a flag. Red. Gold. Glittering in the harsh sunlight. It waves back and forth in the breeze. Ivan's scarf follows it, a flash of red over his tan coat. Over the bloodstains. Some have faded. Others have not. At this distance, no one knows for sure. Not even Ivan.

Beneath him is the skeleton of a building. Hallowed out. Emptied. Riddled with bullets. Riddled with shells. Bombed out. Nothing but a concrete shell. The roof is missing. It is more like a series of holes, where plaster used to be. Not that anyone could tell, from the way Ivan smiles. And he smiles like the sun. Bright, brittle, and beautiful as the dawn. Red and illuminating. And the birds don't go tweet. And no one speaks. And the flag keeps waving, in the noonday sun.

And then he says three words. Nothing more. Nothing less. Clear. Sharp as a sword. With weight behind them, even as they're said so softly.]

This is Stalingrad.

[The video cuts off. Nothing but potential filled silence remains. It echoes in the air.]

her name's yuki. I saw her at a local animal shelter. can't understand how she doesn't get fucking adopted. if you're outside the city you can drive and pick her up. she'll be put to sleep in a couple of weeks.

9 weeks old, very sweet, loves playing. won't leave me alone when I go in there. probably would be good with kids. doesn't bite or anything.

can't see how she can't find a good home if more people saw her.

[The camera flickers on to Kaito adjusting the angle. After a moment of this, he pulls away and leans back in his computer chair with a grin, feet propped up on his desk. He's wearing... a red and white Santa hat, which is positioned lopsidedly on his head, locks of his tousled brown hair peeking out from underneath the hem. The camera shows a glass of chocolate milk sitting next to his keyboard, along with a plate of Christmas tree and star shaped sugar cookies. In the background, Christmas lights are strewn all over the room (and all over Hakuba's stuff, as well. It didn't look like he paid any attention to his roommate's personal space when decorating). They flash brilliantly in time with each other. There are also other Christmas decorations laying across the desks and bookshelves of the room, including a pile of tinsel dumped all over Hakuba's bed and a giant poster that says 'Merry Christmas' adorning the wall directly behind the magician.

Store bought cookies aren't nearly as good as the ones mom and Aoko make. They seem to be even worse when you buy seasonal cookies out of season.

If you are on a world that has been exposed to the H1N1 virus, it is highly recommended that you get vaccinated for it. Children and those who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant may require a second dosage of the shot for greater protection.

Also, a request: do not contact me directly for your medical needs unless it is your last resort. Dr. House and Dr. Hadley are extremely capable doctors, but they are not the community's doctors. Response time is key and if you do contact me, chances are that I will not be able to respond in time.
