[Vriska and John are sitting on a comfy-looking armchair together watching some kind of movie. The only problem seems to be that the armchair is only big enough for... one person. And they are sitting on it anyway. Yes, ladies and gentlemen and trolls, Vriska is sitting on John's lap. They're sort of wrapped around each other and sprawled out all over the armchair. Vriska's legs are over the armrest, and John is leaning on her stomach.]

Joooooooohn, this movie is turning out to be pretty disappointing in the action department!

No, shhhh, something cool is about to happen! [John flaps his hands at Vriska; she snorts and kicks him lightly in the head, which is a bit of a weird stretch to manage.] Don't worry, keep watching, there's about to-- oh!!!

[SUDDENLY EXPLOSION NOISES. They both cheer. And continue to look suspiciously like a sappy adorable teenage couple snuggling on an armchair watching an extremely shitty movie together.]

Woah-ho-ho. Check me out, community? Pretty handsome, huh?

[Yup. Have Woody-- er, Henry -- flexing in his new, human body.] Awwww yeah, who's the toy with the big muscles?

Uh --

[He straightens up, facing the camera, and rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.] Okay. This is important, whoever's has my body: You are a toy. A child's plaything. That means there are some rules.

No one can see you move or talk. When Bonnie or her mom or any other person is in the room you are inanimate, alright? Limp. And don't forget to smile.

Playtime is the most important thing. Bonnie probably won't take you to day camp, so you're free after she leaves. Make sure no one's running out of batteries, got it? Keep an eye on the Leapster, I think he's gonna crash any minute now. Buzz will know where the screwdriver is. Oh, and just do your best to keep the peas in the pod. They like to bounce everywhere but Bonnie tripped on one the other day and then they feel bad.

And don't lose my hat. Got it?

School is coming up in September.

So Mother is insisting I go to Hogwarts because it's closer. I really would have rather had gone to Durmstrang. They clearly sound like the better school. At Hogwarts they teach rubbish, from what I've heard.

But if I have to go I'd better get into the right House. I don't know why they even bother with Hufflepuffs.

People of the community, I've decided to take up a cause. I recently met Captain Jack Sparrow and heard about his plight where the pirate wasn't the one going after booty, but a certain Commodore was. In response, I've decided to start "People Against Norrington The Infamously Evil Sexfiend".

Can I get someone to worldhop these buttons around? [ She holds up a box of buttons like these to the camera. ]

[Sasuke looks like he's about to head out the door or something when he catches sight of the device on the table, blinking with the community home page. He rolls his eyes and picks it up to talk to it.]

Again? Alright, I'll bite. I don't want Naruto or anyone else finding this, and I have an exam to focus on.

Everyone responded pretty well when I asked about revenge last time, so why don't we try another self-interest question. How far would you go to get power?

[And he switches it off.]

Okay, community! Who here knew that Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both died on the 4th of July, 1826? For extra credit, go ahead and tell me why the date was especially significant, and Adams' last words.

Come at me, guys. I've been getting it from the President all morning.

By the way -- Josh is doing great! He's still in the hospital, but the doctors say his recovery is going really well and they're even letting him do some telecommuting. I'm a little worried that if his blood pressure goes up, though, he might just tear his chest open again. I mean, it's Josh.

Happy Independence Day.

Consider this a public service announcement of sorts, but nobody talk to me tomorrow. Especially if you're American. I won't be in the mood for dealing with most people, let alone Americans. Nothing against any of you personally as long as you're not bellends as it is, I just don't like that sodding day. ... The day after probably won't be ideal for talking to me either. If it's important, leave me a message, otherwise you'd be much better off just leaving me well alone. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Current Mood: crappy

[There's soft rustling, as if papers were being shifted around before a soft thump silences the noise.]

No. Nonono... I can't be coming down with something. I have tests next week and I need to keep studying!

Come on Minako! Get back up! You can do it!

Yeah, that worked so well.

[Lily appears in view, green eyes bright with curiosity and her wand in hand. Behind her is a view of the fifth year Gryffindor girl's dormitory... where the wall meets the ceiling. The top of a four-poster bed across the room can be seen too. A smile appears when she sees that it's recording.]

Brilliant! I finally got it to connect for a video recording on my own! I don't really have much to say right now, though. I took my Defense Against the Dark Arts theory exam this morning and the practical was in the afternoon. I've got a good feeling about the grade I'll get, but I won't know for sure until the summer. So, got my fingers crossed all my studying paid off. [She grins and holds up a hand with her fingers crossed. As she opens her mouth to continue, the door to the room opens and another girl's voice can be heard. Lily looks off toward the door.]

Lily?

Yes, Mary?

It's... Snape. [There's obvious distaste in Mary's tone, she clearly disapproves of him.] I just passed him on my way into the common room. He's been out there since after dinner and begged me to send you out to talk-- [Lily interrupts her, her tone going colder than anyone who knows her is bound to have heard, even those who heard her talk with disgust about James.]

I don't care, I've heard enough.

He said he was going to sleep out there all night and wait if he had to. Frankly, I'm not too keen on running into him before breakfast and our exam tomorrow....

[Lily heaves a heavy sigh and gets up.] Fine. I'll go.

[Her book shifts from where she had it propped up to catch a glimpse of Mary standing at the door as Lily puts on a dressing gown. She scoops up the book and her wand, attempting to disconnect the video as she goes down a spiral staircase. When she gets to the common room, she stows her wand into her pocket and holds the book in one arm. The video has not disconnected. In fact, it seems to have a clear view as she hops out of the portrait hole and stops in front of a younger Severus Snape. Anyone who might know his older self from killing Dumbledore can easily recognise him by his grasy black hair, hooked nose, and sallow skin. As soon as he sees her, there is a spark of hope in his black eyes, even as Lily's arms cross over her chest.]

I wanted to say I was sorry.

Was? [Her tone is none too happy and had anyone been able to see her face, they'd see a raised eyebrow.]

I... I am.... I'm sorry. [He falters slightly under whatever harsh stare she's subjecting him to, but his apology sounds sincere... and desperate. When she speaks now, there is absolutely no pity in her voice, as if she's heard this apology many times before.]

I'm not interested.

I'm sorry!

Save your breath. I only came out here because Mary told me you were threatening to sleep here.

I was. I would have done. I never meant to call you Mudblood, it just--

Slipped out? It's too late. I've made excuses for you for years. None of my friends can understand why I even talk to you. You and your precious little Death Eater friends-- [there's a quick pause, before she continues to lash out] you see, you don't even deny it! You don't even deny that's what you're all aiming to be! You can't wait to join You-Know-Who, can you?

[Every last syllable is filled with a cold anger. Snape opens his mouth, as if to reply, but he says nothing and closes it.]

I can't pretend anymore. You've chosen your way, I've chosen mine.

No-- listen, I didn't mean-- [Lily cuts him off]

--to call me Mudblood? But you call everyone else of my birth Mudblood, Severus. Why should I be any different?

[Snape struggles to reply, but only weak noises can escape him. The video only catches a second more of him in this piteous state before it turns suddenly. Lily gives the password to a fat lady in a pink silk dress in the painting, which swings open. She climbs back into the common room, tells off some second-years for staring at her, and returns to her dormitory. She drops her book back on her bed and pulls out her wand. She points it at the book, as if to reestablish the video connection when she notices that it's still on. Lily stares at it for a moment, then with a glow of blue light, cuts off the feed.]

((Yay for backdated canon update! 8D;;; Red font is Mary, green font is Snape, a vast majority of her conversation with Snape has been yanked right from Deathly Hallows, and replies will be dated before her exam the next day.))

[Many Japanese characters will recognize the black robes Issei's wearing - they're the traditional garments of a Buddist monk in that country. Though the robes are long, Issei wears them comfortably and doesn't come near tripping as he moves across the screen to adjust something, then back to the center.]

My dear community. I understand that this is a bit late and many of you may already have plans, but I would like to formally invite you to the Tanabata celebration in Fuyuki, my home, on July 7th - this Thursday. Those who live in Japan doubtless know the story of Tanabata, but I'll relate it briefly.

Long ago, the Weaving Princess was despondent that due to all the hard work she did every day, she would never find a love. Her father, the Sky King, arranged a marriage for her to the Cowherd who worked on the other side of the heavenly river. The two fell immediately in love and were married; however, once wed, the Weaving Princess would no longer work and the Cowherd's cattle strayed all over heaven, so caught up were the two in each other. Angered, the Sky King forbade them to see each other again. When his daughter cried, he relented, and allowed them to meet on the seventh day of the seventh month. It's said that if there is bad weather on Tanabata, the lovers cannot cross the river and meet each other until the next year.

On this holiday, people write their wishes on slips of paper and hang them from bamboo trees. Streamers are hung everywhere, and the city is filled with color. It's a good time to relax and have fun with your loved ones.

My invitation goes out to all of you. I can't provide a worldhop myself, but they aren't difficult to arrange, and I would enjoy sharing the festival with the rest of DDD.

[Edited additional segment:]

Naoto Shirogane can give you worldhops. She's the first commenter on the page, if you'd like to speak with her about it.

((This isn't an event thing because there's no big thread/post for it, but if you want to say that your character met Issei while they were there or say that something specific happened in Fuyuki, we can talk about it~))
