List of weird things to happen in the last half hour:
1. Woke up with a nasty charley horse on a Starship that's current blueprints are about 2 years from even being implemented. In a pretty comfy cabin with a bonsai tree. Pretty sure that was supposed to make me feel more at home or something, which, by the way? No.
2. Received messages from the captain of the Starship-that-wasn't, telling me to come to the bridge for a mission briefing. Spent about fifteen minutes wandering around, getting some pretty weird looks.
3. ...Got turned right around and told to come on here once I finally found the bridge. Seriously, maybe I haven't been on any ships ever, but the layout of this thing is completely counter-intuitive. I mean, everyone's seen the potential design and the base blueprints, but come on.
So anyway, yeah. Why am I supposed to be on this site right now and why am I on a spaceship that shouldn't exist? Because if this is one of those pre-teen chat things that they're using to distract me from their nefarious plot to corrupt me to a life of piracy in deep space, then... well, it's kind of working, but still.
And while I'm at it, if anyone in the bay area could let my teachers know that I'm in space and can't take that text for AP Physics, that'd be awesome.
((OOC: Sulu is now 14 (and a half) and is on a spaceship that was only in the planning stages when he was a kid. Aren't all you other kids jealous of him?))

[third year Luna is third year]
...Starship? Does it fly through the stars, or is it a star?
no subject
...No, it flies through space. Except fly isn't really the right word.
no subject
What is the right word?
no subject
Propel, I guess.
no subject
Propel through the stars doesn't have the same ring to it. How does it work?
no subject
The ship's engines are sub-light impulse. They use thrusters to adjust the speed of the ship, unless they're going into warp, which is when they use the warp drive. That's figuring that technology hasn't changed much in 2 years.
I'm Hikaru, by the way.
no subject
Sub-light? Is there an over-light?
I'm Luna.
no subject
There's sub-light-speed and then light-speed. Then, warp, which is faster-than-light.
Nice to meet you, Luna. Did you find the stuff you were asking around about?
no subject
Does that mean you'd only find dark there?
Not yet. I'm sure I'll get it back before the end of term, though. I usually do.
no subject
No... light-speed is a measure of time, not a measure of luminescence.
Get it back?
no subject
Oh, I see. How do you measure luminescence?
My things, but my earrings most importantly. They go missing every year. People take them, I think.
no subject
Luminescent intensity is... I think measured in candelas.
Why would they take your stuff? That's not cool.
no subject
I think they think I'm odd. But I get most of it back by the end of term, so it's not as bad as it sounds.
no subject
That's tough. They shouldn't bother stealing your stuff for being "odd" or whatever.
no subject
It isn't very nice of them, but if I got mad at them, it wouldn't get my things back.
no subject
Man, if I got my stuff taken at school, I wouldn't be as calm as you are.
no subject
They're just my things. They'll be back soon. And if not, that'll be okay, too.
no subject
That's really zen, Luna.
no subject
Zen's another nice word. It sounds very calm.
