[Video Post]

[The video opens with a close-up of Issei's face. He's smirking, in a rather strange manner not usually associated with Issei. In the background, muffled noises can be heard.]

Haruto, I'm breaking up with you. I can't be tied down to any one person, and you're not that special. My apologies.

[He takes a step back, and two things are revealed. One, this Issei is dressed in all black, unusual for Issei. Two, another Issei is tied up and gagged in the middle of the room. The first Issei walks over and slaps the second, who whimpers but goes quiet. Satisfied, he turns to face the camera again.]

So Tyki, William, anyone else - I'm not trapped any more. Why don't we have a night of fun?

[With superhuman speed, Issei sidesteps.] Try not to be so obvious next time.

Looks like he's worth dissecting. [Birkin flings a clipboard at him, more for the sake of a distraction than actually trying to land a hit]

[Oooh, very interesting. So Issei is a bit more than he looks, is he? Stein's smile widens even further as he misses Issei]

Looks like!

[He catches his momentum on the table and uses it to whip his body around, a leg flashing out towards Issei's chest]

[Issei dodges again, back towards the door.] You're not making this fun anymore. I don't really care for fighting.

[Goddamn, it's like fighting a tiny little Wesker] Then I'd get your ass moving and find yourself an easier target.

[The speed is annoying, and without even the briefest physical contact he can't synchronize his soul with Issei's to use his most powerful attacks. Damn, it's irritating fighting without a weapon sometimes, too.

Oh well. He darts forward again, hand flashing out once more. He just needs to touch him.]

You really think you can get out of here alive if we don't want you to?

[Out the door and into the hallway, but not before being scathed. There's no soul to resonate with, though. This is just a magical construct of the virus: no Origin.]

Yes, I do.

Just let him go. It's not worth the effort, it's really not. [He scowls at the opposite]

[Stein startles when he's unable to resonate with the creature, and he pauses. Issei's double gets out of reach again, and he looks back at Birkin, disappointed that he won't be able to cut the kid open]

Are you sure?

[That's Issei's cue to head into the hallway and find his ride. The echoes of "Adachiiii" can be heard.]

Yeah, it's fine. [Birkin slides down to the floor, hugging his knees to his chest] Adachi you dumb motherfucker...

[It takes him a few to realize that Birkin needs some comforting. He hums and lights up a cigarette, eyes faraway as he considers what just got away. Then he looks back and blinks at the sight of Birkin on the floor, the sanity coming back into his eyes.

He drops to one knee and puts a hand on his shoulder]

Want me to go beat Adachi up for bringing him here?

[Birkin smiles slightly] I'd like that, I think. [He lays his head down on Stein's hand] Did that just happen?

I think so. [He gives the shoulder a squeeze] Fast little bugger.

I wonder if the real Issei can do any of that... [He tilts forward, leaning against Stein] Thank you. It's not every day I get a daring rescue.

[He's wondering the same thing as he slips his arms around and holds] Well, I'm the hero in this place. I guess I've got to keep up my cred with rescues at least once a month.

And I guess that makes me your token damsel in distress, huh? [He appreciates the hug a lot more than he lets on; humor's just how he masks all feelings of "Holy shit I nearly got molested by a monk"]

You're mine. [He gives a kiss, deep, possessive, and a little tender] It doesn't matter what you are.

[He kisses back, still clinging to Stein for dear life] You're so sweet. [Birkin lifts himself off the floor and smiles slightly]

[He chuckles, grabbing Birkin by the hand and helping him to his feet] Sweet, or something.

I think it's sweet.

[Smirk] So are you going to immediately start hunting Adachi down or do I have the opportunity to thank my knight in shining labcoat?

[Eyeroll] You would.

[Okay, that was a little funny, and he snickers] I think I have time to let Adachi get back from returning the little pissant to wherever he came from.
