[anon, locked from Lina and Gourry]

How many people here have run into other members who are from their world, but in the past? I know I'm not the only one it's happened to.

Has anyone ever felt the urge to tell them about what's going to happen? Or to try to get to their timeline and prevent something that happened there?

((OOC: Feel free to call him out should he decide to fail at anon, since I've decided to be nice for once and let this actually lock :P))

I have. I did want to say something...but it could have really messed things up.

If your world was destroyed...how are you here?

Don't do it. You could shift a person's Destiny.

IN A WAY YOU COULD NOT POSSIBLY IMAGINE!

It does not mean the outcome could possibly come out how you hope.

It could come out far worse.

You'd be surpised a small change could actually make it worse rather then better. Even if you have the intentions on making whatever it is you want to change, go right.

Changing the past fate of others is not to be in the hands of any individual no matter how much they may think they can handle it.

It is too great a responsibly even for myself.

I dunno. Maybe!

I mean stuff sounds familiar, but it's so far into the past that I can't tell if it's really the same world I'm from. I'm probably just reading too much into things, huh?

I haven't had this experience dear, but some things do need to happen how they happen. If things have come through in your timeline, what right do you have to affect the choices made in another?

[identity profile] elderfrahma.livejournal.com 2010-07-23 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
But at what cost my dear? There may have been suffering, but what was gained from it? What choices were made, what people were forged or changed in it all?

Can you see how these events impacted all of the world?

Well...since I've just arrived I can't say that I have any personal experience to share with you.

Are you thinking about returning to your past?

[identity profile] mercurialbreeze.livejournal.com 2010-07-23 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Fate carries a heavy burden...but you know, I don't think there are any rules that say you can't give her a hand sometimes! If changing the past means something to you, then you should go for it!

I haven't been in that precise situation, but I've met people whose futures I'd already seen.

It isn't easy to stay out of the way.

And yet, you can't be sure of what will happen. By preventing those things, you might cause something worse. By trying to avert the world's destruction more cleanly, you might cause it. The only timeline that's known is the one that already happened.

I've met three thus far and had them brought to the future.

I haven't looked into it extensively - however, it's likely that a great disaster was averted, quite possibly saving a whole city. But on the other hand, it's just as likely that those that would have been behind said disaster got away scot-free, able to continue doing as they wish. A double-edged sword, so to speak.
