Not particularly sure how I stumbled onto this place...rather certain it had something to do with Penelo and vibrantly-colored buttons, however. But since I'm here...it's a pleasure to meet you? ~~Why ever am I doubting the truth of the preceding sentence?~~

Simply casting spells. Something you learn with time and experience. Inner power, I believe it was, or something akin to the sort.

Oh. It's the same here, I think. I don't really get it. But you also have to be part elf. Can you cast spells?

Certainly. Scrolls and licenses for such endeavors cost me a fortune.

Not so horrible if one loves books and other such trivial knowledge sources. I happen to count myself as one of those insane few who actually do enjoy learning.

Really? You're lucky. I hate studying and stuff, but when I don't do it well my teacher hits me. And that's pretty much all the time.

Ah. As much as you'll suffer at the moment, I must admit that that's the most effective way of teaching...and learning (if you're not motivated enough).

I am in no way mocking you, young sir. I've had a teacher such as that...and she was indeed rather intimidating.

Literature. Every single syllable had to be pronnounced the way she wanted. If not...well, I'd rather not even remind myself.

Yes, that would be the punishment. You'd have to plays your elbows on the desk and...wack, for the lack of any better verb.

So you have to wait for it? Professor Raine always catches you by surprise. I don't know which is worse.

Back in school, I would have given anything to not wait for the impending pain. My professor always dragged everything out, however, and my wish was never granted.

I guess that would be worse, then. I think if I knew the Professor was going to hit me, I'd try to run away.

And run away I tried. There was not much I could do upon coming face to face with a locked door, however.

What does your teacher do?

... Well, usually when she hits me in class, I'm asleep. So it's easy to sneak up on me.
